I always kind lioved the idea of adding a few foreign prospects to the team. Not sure if they do this anymore, but didn’t St Mary’s have a few of them and make the tourney a bunch doing this?

Lmao, get me some players who get us in the tourney and I’ll show up wearing a French flag with a sign reading Vi Va La France

Honestly, I thought there was a rule where international players can’t get NIL $. Wasn’t Last-tear Poa not getting paid? Maybe payments from NIL collectives are a way around that. I’m not sure - just asking the question

I believe this is some kind of governmental issue for foreign nationals, not an NCAA rule.

Yes. Someone here on a student visa is here to be in school. Their earnings are restricted. For earnings not to be restricted, they have to be here on a work visa. My understanding is you can’t do both.

And at least with euro’s your getting a product that is more polished and has the fundamentals down. You give up athleticism (normally). I love hearing the debates on who would win in a game between the 5 best Americans and the five best foreign players, I got a feeling the the edge goes to the foreign

Mike Hanson was a straight up shooter—wasn’t he from Spain? (…and with a name like that…why?)

LA legislature needs to take a page from TX and ban international kids from receiving scholarships. LSU is meant to serve Louisianans or at the very least Americans.

European players are not better than the kind of players commonly recruited.

Because they would rather give self imposed death penalty second time

Would be better to save money and sit season out

Explain the logic of this? Who cares where a kid is from if they can help you win.

They did. Valparaiso was the first program I recall doing this in the late 90s-early 2000s when they made the tournament almost every year. They basically had a pipeline into eastern Europe.

I specifically remember Homer Drew saying those kids don't know there's a difference between Valpo and Duke.

I believe he was born in Spain to American parents. I believe his name Hansen.

I have always believed had Hansen not contracted mono during the stretch run in 1991 the Tigers may have been a Final Four team.

As I stated in the HVL thread, the ULSU has devolved into a "Reverse Racist" institution of higher learning.
