It’s easily the best logo out there but it’s hard to find much other than hats that use it

It’s great. I agree.

It's too clunky. It's good for a baseball cap because it's vertical, but it's hard to read from afar.

Agreed. It’s a “baseball” logo. Leave it with baseball gear.

LSU is very particular as to how the letters LSU are presented. Effectively, "LSU" is the school's trademark, and most recognizable logo. Therefore, LSU in Geaux font is to be used as much as possible.

Back in the early 2000's, pretty much every department on campus had a different logo or way of presenting the letters "LSU". Because of this, LSU's marketing department has been working hard to eliminate variance.

The baseball team's LSU logo is an exception, since it, too, has a signature "brand" all its own. Outside of baseball, though, the logo is downplayed.

ONE of the best logos ever.
I have a sweatshirt with logo that’s raggty as shite, but I can’t give it up.

That's because it's a ball cap type logo. You can find a lot of university logos like that only on ball caps. It's sort of baseball-esque

Because it’s ugly and hard to read?

The staircase LSU is great but I'm ok with it being a baseball specific logo. LSU should always be rendered horizontally for football to match the helmets. Maybe the staircase on the basketball shorts could work though.

Good point upthread about the marketing dept standardizing the way the letters get applied across all departments. From a branding standpoint, LSU was in the dark ages until around 2000.

The reason I started this thread is I came across this pullover and wanted to buy it but they were out of my size. I look at over sites for it and couldn't find it anywhere, nor anything else really with that logo.

I know grown men wearing jerseys is a controversial topic around here, but I've always wondered why they don't sell the on-field baseball jersey.

Why people hate someone who attends an athletic event that wears the jersey of the team they're supporting is beyond me.

The LSU on the football helments is actually "arched".

He's making a distinction between "horizontally" which you stated in your first post and "arched". Technically he's probably right.

I save all of my completely unreasonable hatred for Toonces apparel.
