Because Ty Mathieu is a great story. He completely turned around his life, he could have kept going down the wrong street, but chose to get back on track and people admire that.

Simmons showed up for like 5 basketball games while at LSU. So about 5x the number of classes he attended.

Matthieu had personal issues that he’s since addressed. He loved LSU and has since made amends with LSU and the community

Simmons didn’t care about LSU. We were simply a parking spot. Don’t dislike him but He has no association with LSU
