Why does Hilliard not pitch more?

He has great command and always seems to work quickly. I know he's had injury issues, but he needs to be a big part of our pen in my opinion

This is his best outing; he’s been lit up this year

This is the best he's pitched in a while. We will see him a lot more if he keeps this up.

He has struggled off & on
He’s doing great so far tonight

He had arm soreness and fell off the map a little.

I guess you missed him vs ORU

He hasnt pitched like this in a very long time. High 80s fastball and that curve can pitch at any level

He’s dealing tonight. Good for his confidence. We need middle relievers who can hold the rope.

Been a long time since he's had the stuff he has tonight...

He got raked by Oral Roberts; lol.

This isn't SEC batters. When he's on, he's decent. That fastball, and missing locations with the curve ball will get punished big time against good hitters.
Can we stop taking bits of one game and acting like it paints the entire picture? It's great to see him pitching well, but he needs to do it consistently.

His curveball is either on or off. When it is on, you cannot hit him. But when it is off, it is like T-ball for those guys. The problem is, its 50/50 which version we will get and that lack of consistency is what has hurt his weekend status

That seems like an unfair assessment.

You think he's elite when he's on?

Relax. Definitely good enough to be in the rotation when he's on.

Cause they’ve ruined and mistreated his arm

Let's be honest, we weren't very good overall on the bump when Hilliard was starting. His role at LSU was never going to be as a starter, on a good team.
Not taking away anything from him, because he saved our arse at times his freshman year.

Semantics. Depends on your definition of "decent"
IMO there's a large gap between decent and elite

The starting rotation??
No way.
