re: Why do you think that Miles has such great success against Alabama and Saban?

This. Our fans act like the SEC title is shite. Most said Lea would never win another one. Say what you want, you can't get voted into the SEC championship. It's the one championship that is void of any human bias.

I think that's a typical, self-pitying LSU conspiracy theory. Do you really believe that the media has some special agenda that includes promoting Alabama?
Yes. Yes they do. USC west and ND and Mich has as well. Did you see when LSU lost TM they revoted for preseason rankings. USC lost their best defensive player and reciting wasn't even mentioned. Also the love that USC got for returning a team that was blown out by 21 to ASU a d then calling them the bet starting 22 in America. I firmly believe ha LSU lost on Nov.5th no way are we in the title game. Also the reason for Bama getting into the title game was because of humans thinking they were the best team and that they should've beaten LSU the first time. It sure the hell wasn't resume.

The first game you guys keep selectively forgetting had MUCH more value than you all give it credit for......you keep forgetting it because it only fits your "1/9" arguments.
Exactly. No one knew the media would use a one time "eyeball" test to give Bama a mulligan. Also for the first time in NCS selection history, who you lost too , outweighed who you beat.

Good god. It's a game, played by kids. Miles has done more LSU on a Wednesday in April, than you ever will. Get over it.

Do you think Herbstreit really broke a story w/o having solid info? I think it pissed miles off so bad that it leaked prior to the SECCG he declined going to UM.
Who knows what info Herbbie had and who cares?
One guy wanted to be at LSU so he stayed and one guy didn't want to be at LSU and so he left. Simple as that to me.
I don't care who left Okla St or for what reason...I'm not a fan of Okla St.
I not saying Nick is a bad person cause he wanted more than LSU, but since LSU wasn't good enough for Nick it's pretty neat that we replaced him someone even more successful at LSU than Nick was at LSU.

Exactly.
Les Miles only has the highest winning % in SEC HISTORY( 100 games coached) but lets focus on one game to determine his worth. I hate our ignorant entitled fan base.

This isn't 1989. The athletic depart doesn't comprise local yokels and in-bred good ole boys. We found a replacement for Saban, we'll find a replacement for Miles.
Really? Yeah because so many LSU coaches have made LSU a top 5 program. There is just a plethora of dominant LSU coaches in the past.

STFU. The better coach is the one with 3 national titles and to say otherwise proves you're an idiot.
Bruh you're talking about games that are out of the hands of coaches. You are voted into the BCSCG you don't win your way into it. Voters voted Bama in while having a far worse resume than OSU. Bama had only beaten 3 teams with a winning record and Osu ha eaten 5 ranked teams.
Also are you forgetting 2010 when Saban had one of the 5 most talented teams in CFB history and he lost 3 games. Why tent you counting SEC titles? That's a game you can't get voted into. You have to win your way into that game , but it doesn't support your argument.

Their head coach having to go sit on the set of ESPN gameday during the SEC Championship game (because his team lost its chance to play in it) to beg voters to keep them at No. 2 even if another team with an identical record wins their conference? NOPE. Lauding themselves after getting SIX WEEKS of preparation for a rematch (LSU only got two wks of prep to go ON THE ROAD) during which they completely retooled their offense to pass and their defense to be able to stop the option game--something they couldn't do during the regular season. THAT'S JUST REMEDIAL FOOTBALL. Undermining the achievement of another team in their own conference for their school's own glory? CLASSIC SORE LOSERISM Using the conference champion's undefeated record and schedule as the rationale for why they should be in the national championship? BS Tarnishing the value of an SEC title just so their coach and players can massage their wounded ego for losing a game AT HOME? PATHETIC

This is why. Miles isn't a better coach than Saban, but he does have equal talent at his disposal. I can't think of a single person who has ever questioned LSU's talent level; it's our coaching that has been suspect at times.

This is where people are wrong.
People forget in 07 and 11 we had to win the seccg to get into the bcsccg. well in 11 bama had to sit at home while LSU played for the rt to play them. If anyone backed into the bcscg, it was bama.

Can you point out the huge diff between LSU 07 and 2011 Bama? I'm sure you can. Also everyone has 2 losses

row away year. Les never had that concern because he inherited a top knotch program
This is so overblown. Saban had all of ONE top 5 finish and he lost 3 games a year except once. Somehow you negatards have made it seem like the LSU Saban left was as good as the program Miles has now. It just wasn't. In 04 we lost 4 games and y'all make it seem like we were great. We weren't.

It didn't help matters but we weren't moving the ball at all in the 4th. We had 9 yards of offense

I'm proud of what LSU accomplished last season and, though I wish the outcome of the final game were different, I'd never feel satisfied by winning a title the way the Tide did last year.
This is literally one of the best posts I've ever seen on this site.
Good work, Bluestem75
All of you Saban cock suckers wouldn't be here whining about Miles had Saban not gotten something Miles would have never gotten: A Mulligan.
I repeat: NO COACH IN AMERICA has to live up to the standard that Miles/LSU now have to live up to: Beating Saban/Bama twice in a season.
You idiots better get used to this, because once the "playoff" starts, Bama's lone loss can be to LSU every single fricking year and they will get in the final four because of the "brand". (All the while avoiding matchups in the SEC with the likes of UF, USCe and UGA).
LSU, on the other hand, will have to win the SECCG in order to get in. Simple as that.
As for you fricktards whining about 2007, here is a hint:
Despite LSU's 2 losses, they still accomplished more than the Mulliganites did in 2011. There are three distinct accomplishments that were better. Can you name them?

Not bad when you consider we had our backup QB in the game (JJ was speared in front of bug eyes, no call) along with our backup RB (Charles Scott broke his collarbone after a tackle).
LSU always plays Bama tough. Always.

Why do you think that Miles has such great success against Alabama and Saban?
Because the way Bama plays happens to be to LSU's strength. Bama plays like LSU does. Run the ball, pass to keep them honest, and play great Defense. LSU is used to practicing against it. LSU doesn't have to worry about "trickeration", misdirection type offense where nobody knows who has the ball (See Cam Newton and Tim Tebow), and LSU doesn't have to worry about a running quarterback (which normally gives them fits). LSU can pin their ears back, rush the passer and play their type of ball. Mano-e-Mano.
This leads to competitive, chess match type, tough games. Hard defense, field position, who flinches first, relatively low scoring games. Especially when the talent level is fairly equal.

Since the beginning of 2008 Saban is 56-6. During that same span Saban is 3-2 vs Miles. 3-3 if you include the 2007 year but that entire year was abysmal by Saban's standards.
So just looking at the last 4 2/3 seasons he's lost 6 times and only to one team more than once-LSU.
Those 6 losses were to Florida, Utah, South Carolina, LSU, Auburn, & LSU again.
Miles is 36-1 at home at night.
The above does not bode well for Bama.

Plus Miles has beaten Saban 2 out of the last 3 games, including 1 game in Bama.
