because Les Miles knows his team and what they can and cannot do. Puts them in a position to be successful vs Bama. It's worked 50% of the time vs the Bama/Saban train

The "but I'm a realist" argument strikes again. It's been going on for 3 weeks now.

Do you dispute the notion that the first meeting vs. Alabama was for absolutely nothing?

Don't try to recharacterize my argument using pathetic and inapposite internet memes. Just respond.

Do you dispute the notion that it would be better to have two NC's rather than none, one undefeated season rather than zero, and zero losses rather than one? Do you dispute that? Yes or no?

Just respond, directly.

What? Do I dispute that is was for " absolutely nothing"? I do dispute that. It wasn't for "absolutely nothing." It was for "something," but that "something" simply wasn't as large as the "something" that was at stake when the two teams met again in January.

Overall

CNS 63-10
CLM 82-19

Do you think bama will lose 9 of their next 28?

We're looking at National Championships in the last 3 years, I'm sure, right?

How about we just look at their records since they have faced each other every year since 2007

The slurp job over 1 trophy.

LOL. Do you not recognize the irony here? One crystal trophy is all that Miles has ever won, and you seem ready to slurp his taint perpetually for that. But hey, if another program has double that output in three years, the delta is just meaningless.

My only point being that it is totally and completely obvious to any human being who hasn't recently suffered a head injury that the NCG was a bigger game than the regular season match-up.

yet, the first game in Tuscaloosa meant nothing in terms of SEC Championship representation, undefeated season, NCG representation? Is that what you're saying? If LSU loses in Tuscaloosa, since we're playing hypotheticals, where does that leave LSU? No NCG shot. No SECCG shot. No undefeated season.

The first game you guys keep selectively forgetting had MUCH more value than you all give it credit for......you keep forgetting it because it only fits your "1/9" arguments.

Miles had tremendous success to keep the train rolling to New Orleans. Alabama's train derailed and with the help of the national media, was put back on the track and ended up with a rematch.

Change the Alabama to a team without a prominent college name, you HONESTLY think that team would have gotten a rematch? HELL NO.

I havent done anything. I have my fair share of criticisms all year long. But I don't hang my hat here on "1/9" or "I'm a realist!" I enjoy watching this team. It's frustrating here and there, but I still enjoy cheering for them. I don't go out of my way like half of you people to make sure that Alabama is my favorite team.

you're an idiot. It doesn't change the dynamics of the percentage. .500 is still not succeeding half the time. This does not constitute what the post is describing as 'great.'

if alabama had lost to iowa state last year, and oklahoma state had lost to lsu in overtime, then osu would have played for the crystal

+3 in wins & -3 in losses( he has 12 losses not 10) . 2 crystal balls to 1 is better IMO.

Not to mention in 2007 Bama was 7-6 so since 2008 they have gone 56-6

Hate on Saban all you want but that was my biggest fear when he was hired at bmaa. I just wish Tenn or another team would take him.

Alabama is my least favorite team.

But they have won two of the last three national championships. They beat us 21-0 in the national championship game the last time we met on the field. They went undefeated three years ago. They are undefeated and ranked number one in the land this season. I can't blind myself to these facts. I can't selectively forget them.

I want this to change. I want LSU to win two of three NC's, I want LSU to go undefeated, I want LSU to be in position for a third NC in four years. But until this happens on the field, it's hard for me to blindly pretend we've had more success than Bama of late. We just haven't.

Hopefully, the road to dynastic success begins with a win on Saturday night. I'll be there. Trust me, I concede nothing in advance of the game. Nor during it.

I'm not hating on Saban. The man is excellent at what he does.

I hav an issue with the people that doesn't give Miles the credit he deserves for beating him.

That third loss counts as at least 2 in my book. I'll never get over the way the team was handled.

I am not one of them. I do have a problem with how 1-9 went not because we lost but because we never tried anything new.

Is that what he did on 1/9/12 when he didn't do everything in his power to prevent us from losing? When he kept sending Jefferson out there over and over again, even when he was obviously ineffective? Was he putting his team in the best position to be successful then?
