Saban circles our game and they take the bye week to prepare

It's been two things.

1. Our offensive scheme plays right into their defensive scheme. It's power against power with no frills. Their teams have been better than ours across the board so this approach is a losing proposition and has proven to be over the past eight years.

2. The bye week before the game gives Saban more time to prepare for us and he is an expert preparation coach. We need to get rid of the bye week and also move the game to earlier in the year so we can play Alabama BEFORE they gell together as a team. Let somebody else get their polished version every year. Why does it always have to be us?

such a pathetic excuse.
We don't control when Bama takes their bye. It's a compliment they choose us every year.

I swear our fans are stupid. If you think Bama played its starters and was as focused in any other game this season, you are nuts.

bullshite. Ole Miss and AU have beaten Bama multiple times since the last time we did.

You think Bama doesn’t take them as serious as us?

We've scored 10 total, in 3 games.

Mississippi State could barely complete a forward pass against us. I bet they don't get shutout.

We've scored 10 total, in 3 games.
Thats what pisses me off

Two things. The scores by other teams were after second and third teamers were in while against LSU starters stayed entire game, second this game generates so much hype players seem to play tight and don’t perform, ex Tracy missed field goal. Until LSU wins a game it’s hard to see it changing

Other teams play Bama better because they're not seeing the best Bama.

LSU got their full attention. Everybody else gets 75%.

Already posted this in another thread about the same thing:

There's a rough correlation between the order in the season that the teams play Bama and points scored. Since 2011 on average, this is the order:

UM
Arkansas
A&M
LSU
MSU
Auburn

The exceptions are A&M and Auburn.

A&M scored a combined 71 on Bama the first 2 years they were in conference (with a Heisman QB), then settled to lower scores. Their average scoring since 2014 falls in line.

Auburn's the rivalry and they'll always be an outlier.

The point of this is that Saban's defenses improve throughout a season. The best chance to beat him is in the first 5 games. Bama has been LSU's 9th game.

We play the offense that Bama wants us to play. It's probably no more complicated than that.

We do nothing to create mismatches. We do nothing to put one of their players on an island. We do nothing to put the ball moving in the opposite direction of their defensive players. We dictate nothing to their defense.

Most of these teams were playing 3rd string and walkon Bama players in the second half.

LSU didn't have that luxury.

I honestly believe that Bama plays us better than the rest of their schedule. They circle the LSU game, we are drilled into their heads all year, from the time they are recruited until they leave all they hear is "LSU this, LSU that", they have an extra week to prepare for us and get to get pumped up to play us and our game with them is always the focal point of the CFB weekend.

THIS....Saban also wants to make this a highlight game when recruiting the best that LA has to offer...."Want to win championships with us, or get beat every year by us?"

May be as simple as this is the biggest game on Bama’s schedule and they take a different attitude into this game. Hard for them to take the other SEC as seriously as LSU and therefore more motivated than they are in other games.

I think the OP is right. We have to stop seeing ourselves as equal to them, if we want to beat them.

agree, and this game proves it, we are not equal on the lines anymore, we were close years ago, but no more... it will take trick plays and gimmicks to beat them... maximum risks have to be taken with a "what do we have to lose" attitude

Nope!

LSU is their biggest rival, whether the Gumps choose to admit it or not. Actions speak louder than words.
