Clueless college geeks hate everybody.

One of the most disappointing days of my life was when I finally met TT in person. I was wearing a LSU shirt and decided to go over and speak to him. First thing out of his mouth, " you're flying the colors aren't you son?"
This was in Montgomery and you can guess I was the only person wearing P&G. Anyway, he turned out to be a very nice, sincere person. Thank God SS came along when he did, that way I had somewhere else to direct my anger.

Because he is a good coach, LSU fans know it. And oh yeah, his team seeems to beat us more than any other. And the cigar and eye stomp didn't help much.
I'm sure thae chop block was deliberate, although I don't think Tommy ordered Chaz to "sweep the leg".

My "hate" as been transformed to respect after all these dogfights. Tubs was correct to identify LSU as THE power in the SEC years ago and he has built his team to challenge accordingly.

What exactly is the Cigar incident?
I tried to look it up, but I could not find it.

On Sept 18, 1999, coach Tommy Tuberville's birthday, Auburn handed LSU a crushing 41-7 loss during a rare day game in Baton Rouge. In celebration, Auburn players and coaches smoked cigars on the field at Tiger Stadium, much to the chagrin of LSU players and fans. This is cited among LSU faithful as the day the rivalry officially began, and it was used as motivation in 2001 when LSU defeated Auburn 27-14 on the way to their first SEC Championship since splitting it in 1988. Auburn would finish Tuberville's first season at 5-6, while LSU ended the season 3-8 and with the resignation of coach Gerry DiNardo, who left before the third win of the season. Auburn has not won in Baton Rouge since.

I think in 1999, he and some of his players smoked cigars on the field at Tiger Stadium after routing LSU.

Until this year, with the way he handled the Chickenshit Ramsey incident, I didn't have anything against Tuberville. In fact, I always kinda liked the guy. I had no problem with him smoking a cigar in celebration of beating us, nor did I have a problem with any of the other things he's done. The only real reason I ever had to get pissed off at him was that he beat us a couple of times when I thought we should have won. For that, I respected him, I didn't hate him. I would have been happy to see him hired as coach at LSU someday if we needed to hire one.
But sending that piece of shite out there to try to end Glenn Dorsey's career was about the lowest thing I've seen a coach do. So he's crap now, as far as I'm concerned. And that is the only reason I think that way about him.

Wouldn't surprise me if he ended up our coach one day
That'll never happen. The only time it conceivably could have happened was right after the 2004 season. He had just had a perfect season at Auburn, a year after the infamous flight to Louisville to "interview" Petrino. It would have been a perfect time for him to tell Auburn to go screw themselves, come to LSU and spend the rest of his career beating the shite out of them. If it didn't happen then, it's not likely to.
Besides, it doesn't look like we'll be in the market for a new coach any time soon. And that's just fine with me.

I'm fine with that as well. Just, history tells us Miles won't be here forever.

The 1 yard TD run by Rudy Johnson in Auburn after they were up by a ton to score over 30 pts. that I heard announced on the PA while walking back to my car when all Tubby had to do was take a knee was classless and told me all I needed to know about him.
The cigar incident and eye stomping was bush league a la Miami but the Dorsey chop block being denied coupled with that Rudi Johnson poke in the eye TD, besides the fact they beat us by cheating in Auburn regularly make me just hate them and their coach.
I'd love him as ours, but he's not so let's beat him bad!
