But let's rejoice with loss. I'm sure as mediocre as we have played in May will automatically turn into greatness next weekend

No one is “rejoicing in the loss”. But other than extend Skenes and Floyd, along with playing White…who apparently had some sort of minor injury, what you you have done differently?

My point is the way we left a ton of players on base today and yesterday we are obviously struggling at bat. More games could have worked out the kinks.

LSU was down one in the 9th in both games with at bats to tie. They didn’t come through.

What would you have done to change the outcomes? Extend Skenes and Floyd to 100+ pitches? Even if you did, the bullpen was going to get the game at some point. And frankly, the bullpen wasn’t horrible in these three games. At least relative to recent prior outings. And why would you unnecessarily risk (however small) something bad happening to your only two reliable pitchers literally on the eve of the most important games of the season?

It’s not like Johnson benched his entire regular lineup or started pulling key position players in the 5th inning. Those guys had MANY chances at the plate to deliver big ABs. More often than not they didn’t

Don't they realize this tournament is meaningless like LSU does?

Maybe so! But you couldn’t even win the regular season SEC championship after being ranked #1 for most of the season.

Okay. Is White hurt? If not, I would have certainly started him.

Bro UF and Arky would outside a lights out performance by Skeenes would sweep us right now. Please see reality so the melt is a little less. This team just isn’t good right now at the worst time of the year. We don’t make it out our regional.

These kids are only about 18 to 20 years old. They should be ready to play each game. Period. They are not old farts like me.

True. But Skip had 4 CWS titles before the current SEC Tournament. Maybe JJ can win one and return to treating Hoover like a HS football jamboree.

Granted this was under the old format where LSU was always a lock for a regional. . should have provided the context

According to the brilliant experts here it was really a win since we lost. We can just snap our fingers next weekend and return to early April play.

Exactly. I’ve been saying this for 2 days. Winning is habit forming and losing can frick with team psyche.
