he went to Ole Miss because Skip did not have a place for him here. It was discussed openly at the time with Skip

Skip slow played his recruitment because he figured he had him in the bag... didn’t offer much of a scholarship. Ole miss gave him more of a scholarship, so he went there. Skip has said it was his biggest recruiting blunder of his career. He still loves LSU and attends football games.

What amazes me is the Catholic coach had all that talent and never win a state title if I recall.

He may have set records at ole miss....but he could have had a college world series ring if he had gone to LSU...
Sounds like skip made a very bad decision in recruiting him but he could have a college ring and a MLB baseball ring if he had gone to LSU....ole miss never even made it to the college world series while was there

Earlier in this thread you were criticizing Mainieri for not recruiting him (which you have since edited out).

Make your mind up.....

It wouldn't amaze you if you knew coach Garidel.

Interesting point, and I would still take the Catholic's pipeline to LSU over Barbe's any day of the week.

Curious why Jacob Waguespack from Prairieville went there too? The Blue Jays just brought him up & he struck out 7 straight batters.

He picked us as the SEC team mostly likely not to make it out of their host regional. Sour grapes or good analyst?

Arizona State RAKES. They have 2 players that have more homers than our entire team combined. And with less than spectacular pitching on the whole, it makes sense.

Have talked to him several times and he said pretty much the same thing as stated here:Skip did not offer him, O .Miss did. He said Skip received a lot of flak over not signing CH players and quickly changed his recruitment of local boys. His wife is on the Price is Right, ran track for LSU back when they were racking up multiple NC's. A real cutie, sorry, no pics but she is easy to find . He a big LSU fan but is an alum of the Black Bears. Both he and his wife are good folks,
