Absolutely...anyone who thinks Miles is the only coach capable of bad days is an idiot.

However, thinking Gary is a great coach is not the same as thinking Les should be fired and Gary hired as an obviously better replacement. Some of the responses in this thread seem to be interpreting it that way though.

I saw that kickoff after TCU tied it up. If Miles was coaching they'd say he is the dumbest coaching in the world and lost control. Anybody else and it's forgotten about.

The kicker fricked-up.

You could see Gary chewing him out as he came to the sideline, so that was not a called play.

I'm assuming that he was supposed to squib it, but he hit it pure.

How many national titles would Miles have won at Oklahoma State?

IDK, there is a lot of sand in the vaginas of those "pro-GP" any time someone points out anything negative about GP and his "accomplishments" or lack thereof.

Patterson has his head-scratching moments, but he has some good accomplishments. TCU hadn't had an undefeated season in 70+ years until he had one. And then he did it in consecutive seasons and won the Rose Bowl too going 13-0. They hadn't gone to a major bowl in 50+ years until he took them to one.

For a program that has a total winning % of 56%, he has won 75% of his games and taken them to 14 bowls. Finishing the season ranked 2nd and 3rd in the nation in the last 6 years is a a great accomplishment (especially at TCU).

to add to that, 4 top 7 finishes in the last 7 years. And could be looking at another one this year with the teams in front of them that have lost their bowl games.

Apparently I'm not as impressed by his "accomplishments" or lack thereof, as you. I thought I made this clear. I even hinted as to why I'm not impressed... I.E. his bad seasons (which Miles never came close to), and championships (both national and conference) won in a conference ripe for the taking. I never said he was horrible. I just don't worship him like some here

It seems like you're judging his situation as equal to LSU's for some reason. And TCU as some traditional power.

Just because you don't think 5 conference titles in 3 different leagues, a Rose Bowl win, a Peach Bowl win, multiple Coach of the Year trophies and 10 10-win seasons is unimpressive doesn't make it so. And it doesn't mean anyone but TCU fans worship him either.

You must think Bo Schembechler was meh, too.

Great points, and my response would be that while undefeated seasons are great, thats only happened a couple times in his career. He has more bad seasons than great seasons overall. I would also say that wasn't those 2 seasons (not going to look) during a period where their SOS was one of the worst in the FBS? Isn't that why they kept getting overlooked and no respect? Which leads me to my next point, all his accomplishments are in a joke conference. Ya sure he's now in a tougher conference than when he started, but it's far from the SEC or even the PAC1. He can't be the only one racking up double digit wins out there in the CFB. People have won championships in a tougher conference, in less time than GP has been at TCU, all while pulling in lesser recruiting classes than in-state rivals... and yet GP hasn't yet.

Yes, I do.

It would mean that the announcers would have laid into Les unfairly, like they have many times.
