He stated very clearly in his Wednesday night show a few weeks ago that they were focused on recruiting pro-style quarterbacks in the future.

Okay thanks. That's where it was. I knew I had heard it fairly recently.

And they all had better coaches coaching them then Coach O. A dual threat is not going to fix all your problems when you have a gym teacher as your head coach and he is going to rely on coordinators to do all his coaching for him

Saban doesnt "coach" his QBs. His OC does. Thats kind of the way that works.

Doesn't it seem obvious that Lane Kiffen is coming.

Yesterday, we offer a Bama commitment from Hawaii who is recruited by Kiffen at Bama.

We send three coaches to visit Lowell Narcise

Today, pro style Myles Brennas decommits.

People really think this kid is going to Bama to sit behind Hurts for 3 years?

he probably realized after playing bama that a pro style offense wont beat bama nor florida nor ohio st nor Clemson well u get my gist. its college and a sit in the pocket passer is harder to find these days and 3 of top 4 have what u considered dual threat and the offensive line we have at this off line that we have right now are not "maulers" they more athletic and need to move around a lil bit, they are not the best pass blockers in the world I can continue if needed lol. matt leinarts and carson palmers aint knocking on his door these days its shea Patterson its jalen hurts it deshaun Watson its jt barrett its Lowell narcissi johnny manziel them type of players who winning college these days so I change my mind also

I saw Tua at the elite 11 if he's the big recruit we are bringing they better go run to Brennan and beg him to come back. Tua was the worst thrower at the elite 11.

You are framing his quote back then in the context of recruiting, and I don't believe he said it like that. He was talking about what he was going to do this season, and it was based on what was already in place.

Oct. 12 radio show:

quote:

“I want a pro-style quarterback,” Orgeron said. “Louisiana has been rich in quarterbacks and pro-style quarterbacks. … We’re going to go anywhere in the country that we need to get them, but we’re going to look at Louisiana first.”

You can read into what you want, but it's not a vague comment.

That's very naive. If there was such a thing as a HOF Recruiter, he'd be one. You really honestly believe he is 'winging it' when it comes to recruiting?

He won Elite 11 MVP. Forgive me if I am skeptical he was the worst passer.

Yes he did and he worked his butt off he's a monster built like a lb but he's worse than tebow throwing the ball it's not natural to him and bash me if you want but I'm telling you he can't throw. Mccafferys little brother was by far the best and duke has a kid that's going that was really good Brennan was good too. Tua won that award cause the kid works not because he's the best qb. He was almost cut the first week.

Makes PERFECT sense, and thank God SOMEONE in Tigertown is using his brain. Haven't we seen time and time again that running quarterbacks KILL defenses? Case in point...Louisville, Bama,Ohio St, Clemson, FSU, and damn near every other top 10 program. LSU has been handcuffed by NO MOBILITY from behind center...in order to burn Bama like they burn us, we need a dual threat qb, and someone who can DEVELOP that talent. Well played, I say

Some people here can't wait for something bad to happen. No matter how large or how small, you're just lurking for the first hint of something that just looks or sounds bad and you run off at the mouth.

It's not the creation of a novel idea, but one that defines who you are as a coach. A guy that has no real plan outside of DL as far as coaching styles and team identity is a major issue, and that is O.

He is going to be completely at the whim of his OC and DC in that realm and neither will be here long term.

Sounds like Orgeron didn't know he was getting the hc job weeks ago. duh.

Sounds like NOW THAT HE IS the HC he can begin implementing his plan.

It APPEARS CEO MIGHT have an offensive coordinator lined up already and is now able to commit to spread offense.

Offers go out to spread offense qbs... Alabama commit... which means the OC CEO thinks he has locked up is Kiffin.

Or he knows for sure he will only hire a spread offensive coordinator.

But if that were the case I really doubt he would bother with an alabama commit at all. Really smells like Lane Kiffin.

Brennen opens up his commitment but isn't going to decommit from LSU until he knows it is final (the OC).
