Why did LSU get rid of the Spanish broadcast?

Statement last night from Mario Jerez, they guy who did the Spanish broadcasts:
I liked the Spanish highlights. Sucks they got rid of it for seemingly no reason.

Maybe lack of a sponsor?

I used to like to listen to those highlights. Every time we scored it sounded like Brazil had just won the World Cup Soccer championship.

Not enough latinos in New Orleans anymore apparently. They probably are either dead, killed on the interstate leaving, or left the city entirely.

This is sad news. I do not speak Spanish but I would listen to their highlight reels every week; it was awesome. I think LSU is missing the boat. Spanish is easily the second most popular language in the US and growing. I think it would be good business, with an eye to the future, to produce more, not less content for Spanish speaking community. It would make LSU uniquely positioned amongst SEC teams to provide access to Spanish speakers.

This sucks. Those highlights/broadcasts were awesome and helped grow LSU Fandom to all the latinos in Louisiana.

The broadcast create interest which leads to sales of LSU merch. There’s latinos all over Texas with A&M hats and shirts (too bad nobody has explained to them how perverted that school is)
