They had a two loss regular season and won their division. head to head isn't the only factor involved.

They made the sec championship and should be ahead of us right now given they have a ten win season after they get destroyed by harbaugh we potentially may end up ahead of them provided we win our winnable bowl game.

They played in the SEC Championship game so I see no issue with it. We played them like 2 months ago haha.

Yeah they made sure to spread their shitty loses out.
Last weeke of November AND first week of December.

Because they didn't shite the bed for the month of November.
I don't think we would have either if our November schedule was Vanderbilt, South Carolina, FAU, and FSU.

They won two more games, finished 7-1 in the conference, and didn't have 3 consecutive ugly losses.

Late season losses always hurt you more, or so I'm told. We dropped 6 spots after losing to Bama, UF dropped one.
No, it doesn't matter, but since it's been mentioned...

When did they play the Citadel? Before or after South Carolina played them?

We beat them by 7 facing their backup QB, who is pretty dreadful, though he looked serviceable against us. They smoked OM, OM smoked us. They got beat by Bama but we were utterly manhandled by Bama. In a rematch, Florida smokes us, imo.

He's still starting, which should be a factor. He's gotten worse since then, against pretty terrible competition.

Uh, they were utterly manhandled by Bama as well. They were trying to get to 100 yards of total offense late into the 3rd.

They still looked better than LSU did with LSU getting blown out in their three losses.
A 9-6 win over Vandy and overtime over FAU aren't anything that looked better than how we looked against Ole Miss. Their loss to FSU was as bad as our loss to Arkansas, and we had better offense against Bama (LF's 31 yards against Bama are more rushing yards than their entire team got against Bama).
I don't really care since they ended up ranked right next to us, but let's face it, Florida wasn't very good this year. They just got lucky in that the entire division imploded. UGA not winning the East is a pretty serious indictment of Richt.

If we had played Alabama and Florida St. to end the year, we would have lost both too. I don't see a scenario where we beat Ole Miss by four TDs. I see a lot of scenarios where they beat us, especially had the game not been in Tiger Stadium and had Grier still been their QB.
I think a team that goes 7-1 in the regular season in conference play should be ahead of one that goes 5-3 in the same conference unless the schedules are completely different somehow.
Syracuse is not a substitute for Florida St.
The West is better than the East, but they played LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama. We just played them and South Carolina.

Alabama didn't have a lead by more than one possession until 17 minutes left in the game.

I guess I'll let you split those hairs since that's what this entire thread is doing.
Both games were damn near identical in the grand scheme. The timing of plays within the game is getting a little too granular, all things considered.

I'm not resting my argument on the Alabama-Florida game being competitive for longer, but it still was.
