Why can't we schedule easier games week 1?

Tennessee playing Virginia is a perfect example. If we played Virginia, we would have been able to work out our obvious problems while still dominating a power 5 team. We would also be 1-0 without having to climb a huge hill to make the Playoff or NY6 bowl.
I am just depressed at starting 0-1 for four years in a row and what could be six after we play USC and at Clemson.

Why can't we just play better and not look like shite in all facets of the game?
If Kelly were worth his keep, he'd have us prepared

I love playing tough teams week 1 and hope we never stop. Championship teams and programs are built through adversity imo. Plus the visibility of the program is much higher with marquee opponents

Who cares. We lost last year opener and almkst got to the playoffs

Good teams don't need easy games

WE should always play a couple of stiffs the first couple games to get our feet wet; then play a tough game when we are ready. Our QB was not ready to play like he was the second half of last year.

We can do the same thing week 2. Here are some advantages we would have if we were playing FSU this saturday:
1. Maason would be available.
2. We would know to play Perkins how he should have been played.
3. Diggs and others likely available for game.
4. Harris would hopefully be playing.
Teams improve the most from week 1 to 2. That is why Texas and Bama played their games week 2. Remember when we played Texas week 2?

WHERE'S THE CHEST...LOL, WE COMPLAINED ABOUT SCHEDULING CUPCAKES, THEN WE GO OUT AND GET OUR BHEINDS KICKED WHEN WE SCHEDULE REAL TEAMS WITH SIMILAR ASPARATIONS. THEN WE COMPLAIN ABOUT WANTING A WEEK 0 GAME AND NOW WE ARE SAYING WE WANT TO GO BACK TO CUPCAKES HOW ABOUT WE JUST WIN THE frickING GAMES THAT WE HAVE TO PLAY?

Who did Bama, UGA, Ohio State, USC, and Michigan open with?

FSU was pretty down when we scheduled the series.

LSU didn’t lose because they didn’t have a warm up game. I didn’t like the argument last year when Florida State actually played a game and LSU didn’t and I definitely don’t like it when neither team played a game.
Going 1-1 against Grambling and Florida State is the same thing no matter the order you play the games.
After this season it doesn’t matter anyway. When the playoffs go to 12 teams just playing the game will help you. The top 3 or 4 teams in the SEC will make the playoffs every year.

We can’t schedule cupcakes in week one when we are already scheduled as someone else’s cupcake.

Peeps in charge have to schedule a change with the NCAA.

Playing Grambling doesn’t really expose your flaws. Perkins likely would have done fine and they would probably have left him there. No one know if Diggs would be available because Brian Kelly won’t say anything about him even though he’s being praised for being so “transparent” with the media. We knew we need Denever Harris playing long before Sunday night.

I agree with that. I would rather us schedule programs like Illinois, Purdue, Virginia, Oregon State, etc. with the new Playoff. With an SEC schedule, we don't need to make it tougher to reach the top 12 teams.

Then everyone would bitch that we are playing cupcakes

When it’s 12 teams losing a game to a top 10 team will not do much at all for your chance to get into the playoff. Just finish top 3 or 4 in the SEC and you’ll get it.
