This is probably a wake up call for all those that say coaches would just be lining up in droves and fighting each other irl to coach at LSU.

You wouldn't call Pendergast a big name defensive coordinator? They've been in contact. Doesn't mean LSU or any other school has a divine right to sign whoever they want. And the job hasn't even been open a full week yet.
Considering he pulled his name I think there is probably an underlying issue if he is the person we are led to believe he is in a football sense

Oh no, LSU does. It's the best school in the best city in america.

Timing is also an issue. Contracts have been extended. Chavis left us at worst possible time. We could have had a shot at Muschamp if our coaching changed happened when Everyone elses did.
I keep hearing this, but whose fault is that? The wavering by Chief was a warning sign, and contingency plans should at least have been explored. Unless everyone in the admin and staff was taking the same tack as the sunshine pumpers (i.e., oh no, Chief is just busy in Nashville game planning for the bowl and doesn't have time to sign a fricking PDF and fax or e-mail it...he'll sign right after the game.

The decline is real my friends, and it goes beyond our systemic QB issues, personnel mismanagement and clock snafus. The whole body is rotting.

There are plenty of guys being interviewed. There's just no leaks about it.

The true definition of confirmation bias

Which kind of gives credence to the OP's post about the lack of lobbying, don't you think?

Because you have to deal with Les Miles and the lack of offense. Pretty hard gig. Could hurt you for the next job you are looking for.
Bo Pelini went on to become HC at Nebraska.
Chavis got a massive raise.
Looks like they didn't get hurt at all by Miles.

It didn't hurt Chavis.

You can tell the really retarded posters from this tired unintelligent thought. It is more difficult to have success as a defensive coordinator at a school with a high octane offense like Oregon or Texas A&M than it is at LSU.

You would know.

And if that were the case he wouldn't have taken the call from LSU in the first place.

Yeah its obvious it was one of those retarded threads.

We're in a crunch also because of the offensive dead period
No one wants to be the defensive coordinator for a team that can't score points.

Well genius, seeing as how I'm not their agent I couldn't really give you an answer without speculating, although that's all you're doing. Carry on.

You really want this statement to be true. Badly.

This. Although they may win games, (which is the most important stat) I don't think Chavis's defense at A&M will ever be statistically near the top in the SEC. That being said, if you win stats don't matter as much.
I can't wait to see th look on Chavis' face the first time they get blanked like they did against Bama this year.
Their offense is unstoppable, until its stopped.
Averaged 48 points in wins 19 in losses.
