If there were no donors lined up, Kelly would be our coach today

This is what fascinates me about the whole ordeal. The BOS, who are appointed by the governor, had to approve the firing. It’s pretty simple to make sure the state doesn’t get stuck with the buyout.. just don’t fire the coach unless you have the money lined up.

Then there are reports that Landry had to personally approve the firing. Surely he made sure they had the money lined up, being the beacon of fiscal responsibility that he is.

So now Landry wants to change contract structure so that the state doesn’t get stuck with the bill in case the BOS he appoints, and he himself as governor, approve a firing without having money lined up? So he’s protecting the state from.. himself and his appointees?

Putting aside the rest of the bullshite (e.g. the fact that LSU athletics are self-sufficient and have plenty of capacity to cover a bad contract if it comes down to it), there’s an obvious flaw in the logic. If you don’t think the athletic department can afford the buyout, don’t approve the firing.

The only ties Woodard and Graves have are that they both are Catholic High-Baton Rouge Graduates, but about 10 years apart.

Lulz

There was HUGE democrat Welcome party for Woodward when he got the AD job. It was held in Carvilles home, with all the best DIMs ther. Plus Garrett Graves

Garrett Graves was working with DIMs on a Stadiums Caucus while he was a congressman. He included Woodward in the process. They have quite a connection

Launched Friday by US Representatives Garret Graves (R–Louisiana) and Mark Pocan (D–Wisconsin), the Historic Stadium Caucus is committed to “preserving the legacy and protecting the integrity of these treasured venues across America while enhancing their capabilities, so they are able to continue to host world-class sporting events and concerts for generations to come,” according to a release.

“Historic stadiums play an important role in the environment that makes college athletics special. The game day traditions in iconic venues around the country are unique and are worthy of discussion,” said LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward.

LSU is the top open job in the country. If they don’t prefer us over all those other ones, then they didn’t want to be at the highest level.

LSU is the top open job because people know we are committed to football and are willing to expend the resources needed to win. That’s what Saban built.

When the governor undermines that publicly, it undermines one of the biggest advantages LSU has.

This didn’t happen lol

Anyone who thinks so is acting like a 12yr old emotional girl and should be disregarded in any further discussions. Holy frick I’m amazed that people still think this happened.

Because he’s embarrassing the state and university by acting like a jackass. And possibly along it more difficult for LSU to hire a HC and AD.

It wouldn't matter who was Governor there are those who trash the Governor on TD no matter who

Its in the contract dumbass

I want you to read this real slow so you might understand it.

The contract was bt BK and LSU. LSU is responsible for the buyout and that is covered through the athletic department and TAF. For the state to be on the hook, LSU and TAF would have to be bankrupt and unable to pay the buyout. If we get to that, Kelly’s buyout is a small drop in the bucket of the cluster frick that is going on.

With all that said, LSU isn’t cutting a $50+ million check. He’s going to get paid over the course of his contract. If he gets another job, that buyout gets reduced. He’s actually required to seek another job. The two parties can (and likely will) agree to a different settlement amount.

Back to my original point. The state and taxpayers aren’t paying this and won’t pay it. It was never going to happen.

I will tell you this one last time, your are full of shite
quote:

The Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) is a private, non-profit corporation

TAF is not obligated to pay a single dime. A donor has discussed paying, but isnt paying the whole $54M. Kelly would have to agree to come off the amount, or he could sue LSU. Which is not private. And is responsible

Not if he agrees to a lower settlement.
