No one is going to want to watch us play when NFL on thanksgiving is the real tradition

Isn't Texas also playing on Thanksgiving? So I don't think we'll even be the only college game on.

Clearly you are just ignorantly posting on this topic. We aren't going to host A&M on Thanksgiving Day. This is a game at A&M on Thanksgiving in 2014. When they come to LSU again in 2015, it won't be on Thanksgiving Day.

OP didn't bitch about anything. He asked a simple question.

You realize no one is gonna travel to College Station for Thanksgiving right.

Don't you all have off of work? What difference does it make if an away game is on thanksgiving?

2 reasons:

First, because while I don't get a chance to make many away games, I can appreciate the desire of those folks that do to want to be able to both attend an LSU away game AND be at home for Thanksgiving.

Second, because I fear the slippery slope of this game eventually being on Thanksgiving for BOTH games...home and away, despite LSU's desire to not have it be that way. It's not exactly like we can point to all the things we've gotten our way in terms of scheduling, so is it really that far fetched to think that the SEC could decide this ought to be the case every year? As for why I'd rather not have the game on Thanksgiving, that one ought to be clear. Some of us enjoy Thanksgiving the way it is, and Tiger games the way they are. Joining two fun things doesn't always make the joined event more fun.

I'll add one more....because frick A&M.

I like playing on Black Friday (21 yrs kinda makes it a tradition) ,but if it has to be on tgiving, at least be a 7 or 8 pm kick. I'm cool with that.

I think it's cool to be the only big college game on a holiday. After teeing off all day on turkey with the fam we could sit around and drink and watch LSU

Lsu fans and am fans will be the only ones watching when you go up against the nfl. Ratings will be terrible.

But what if you wanted to go to the game? What if you're large family weren't all LSU fans and your elderly family that you only see on a few occasions each year would love to have you over for Thanksgiving?

When you are no longer a college student, and you have a family of your own, you will realize that grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc all have to come before the LSU football game. If LSU doesn't play on Thanksgiving night you can do both.

1. The guy I replied to talked about getting 100,000 people in the stadium. We will never have 100,000 people going to a road game. He was referring to us playing them in TS on Thanksgiving, which isn't going to happen.
2. Houston has a very large number of alums. I, for one, would go to the game. No difference to me whether it is on Thursday-Friday-Saturday. Living in Houston, I will gladly make the hour drive to watch LSU play on the road. I am not the only one.

Some of us have a life outside LSU football that we spend with our extended families.

Having LSU play an important west game every Thanksgiving would not be cool.

Well it isn't going to be every Thanksgiving, so there's that.

Awww the condescending "college student" post. I'm not a college student. But some of you are going to bitch to bitch. If every game was at 7:00 on Tiger Stadium I think some would find something to bitch about. Because this fan base is full of bitches.

I went to Kyle Field for the game last year, so I have that under my belt. I'll still be doing the same thing I always do on Thanksgiving: eating a lot, drinking a lot and crusing to a bar that night. Only difference is I'll be watching LSU while I'm doing it.
