If you think for a minute that the decision to either keep Joe Brady or Ensminger will result in LSU retaining Ensminger and letting Brady go to the highest bidder y’all have lost your mind. LSU will pay Brady to be OC and let SE assist or be let go. Orgeron and Co aren’t stupid enough to let Joe Brady go. If they did it would result in utter chaos and uproar. I see Orgeron, Brady, and Aranda as the future

Because he is now the hottest young Spread/RPO installer in the nation. Another school could team him up with an old hand OC (like Meyer did with Ryan Day at Ohio St, and LSU did with E). LSU has been chasing an offense like this for a decade. Many other programs have been in that same boat for longer.

Brady's agent is no doubt getting calls already.

He's running a Top 5 offense and getting paid what? $450,000?

Some school will certainly throw money at him. Why wouldn't they?

Why would Joe Brady be recruiting if he was only planning on being here one year

Part of his job? And not arguing he will only be here a year, but every coach brought on that's a part of the 10 or so that can recruit, will recruit.

Like it was said in the other thread - Spreading this rumor will be part of the negative recruiting campaign against LSU.

LSU isn't getting outbid for Brady or any assistant.

They lose him to the NFL or if he wants the offense to himself (no ensminger).

because these people are your standard (sadly) rumor mongers that are attempting to discredit LSU. if the rumor is not addressed by years end it could negatively affect recruiting and that very well may be the goal of these internet, social media misinformers.

SE is in last year of contract as OC

This is a transition year of brady/SE

SE will either retire or move to position coach

Brady will get OC position with $800-$1mm pay with 3/4 year contract.

Book it.

I don't think people are worried that LSU won't offer him, the worry is who else might. Obviously the market is free and who knows what kinds of offers Joe Brady will get after this year? What do we even know about Brady as far as what HE wants? Do we know if he is every loyal to LSU or is this just a sweet gig for him? A young guy like him, only 30 years old, and can essentially become the 1% anywhere in the country....what would be keeping him in Louisiana?

I seem to remember before Ensminger took the OC job that he really didn't want that he would do it for as long as O wanted him to do it.

I could easily see Ensminger taking on off field role in the future and at a minimum Joe Brady could be OC or co OC.

I doubt Brady would have come to LSU without some kind of guarantee about the future.

Can we at least pump the brakes and let Brady get through a conference game first.

I agree. I believe they feel something special is going on. Maybe they do not win it all this year, but it bodes extremely well for the future.

There was a reason we could not get 5* qbs in here, but that is about to change.

Who would want to walk away from this program right now? He may move on at some point but it will be with a national title or 2, or 3!

To me, the only way he's not here is if he gets a good HC offer OR an NFL OC offer. Both seem unlikely. It would be one thing if Ensminger was worried about Brady taking his job and set a ultimatum of "it's either me or him." But that is not the case AT ALL. I don't think Steve ever really wanted to be the OC and he seems more than happy to have Brady's help and input.

Frankly, it is a great gig for Steve. He gets paid very well and doesn't have to do all of the heavy lifting by himself. I wouldn't be shocked if Steve would happily go back to being the TE coach if it became necessary to name Brady the OC in order to keep him at LSU.

People are giving O all the credit, but it's Ensminger's selflessness that is making this work. He's not concerned about sitting next to and working with a guy who everyone knows is there to take his job.

He was a glorified intern for the Saints making next to nothing and got a $1.2 million contract from LSU.

If Joe requires more money to be at LSU in 2020, then LSU will pay him what is required to keep him.
