Why are MSU and Miami suddenly title contenders to some of you since we got Burrow?

I've read your thread title 4 times and still have no idea what you're trying to ask.

I got excited when we got Burrow.

But I’ve seen posters literally saying to temper expectations because MSU and Miami are possible title contenders.

Ridiculous. There are no excuses for worse than 10-2 regular season this year, especially with Burrow now at QB.

People say that shite about almost every game. Last year people were cautioning not to sleep on BYU because they were supposedly a legit threat. Several people even thought we'd lose that game. Chicken little syndrome don't care if you're a Cheerio or a Nega. Anyone can get it.

Quite content and well-adjusted, thank you.

My happiness isn’t contingent on LSU sports.

Injuries at key positions would be a valid excuse.

Miami will be difficult mostly because it's the first game with a new offense, new qb, and an O-line that may not be solidified yet. Not necessarily a walk in the park but we should win this game barring a ton of mistakes on the field.

MSST will return most of their team from last year. I don't believe their roster was 30 points better than ours last year, just a bad combination of injuries, momentum, and being away. They definitely seemed to give up. Motivation for this game will not be lacking this time around, should be a win.

Nobody thinks MSU is a title contender. They do have a Heisman candidate at QB.

Miami was one win away from the playoffs last year and return a good bit. So they are absolutely title contenders

Their roster wasn’t ANY points better than ours last year.

Their coach apparently was 30 points better, however.

Well unfortunately the game is played on the field, not by comparing rosters.

I totally agree. Unfortunately for us, coaching actually is a major factor in the outcomes of games (see Troy, MSU, Notre Dame).

But this roster is the best chance O is going to have to make his mark. If he can’t go 10-2 or better this year, he and Alleva should be gone.

No more excuses.

The team with the higher rated athletes win 95% of the time regardless of who the coach is.

I don’t know if this is true, but if it is, you have to have a really BAD head coach to lose to multiple teams with worse rosters.

Although I agree that 10-2 needs to be the benchmark, Miami and MSU are not title contenders and I haven’t seen anyone suggest otherwise. Miami is close, but bot quite.

I've yet to see anyone mention MSU, but Miami was always considered a tough opponent. Have you been asleep for a year?
