Why are batters carry the bat down first base so long?

Wasn’t there a rule about that at one time?
Also
Shouldn’t have Milan be rounding first at full speed
If the ball hit the fence?
I don’t know, just asking

Get off my lawn guy here.

Imagine worrying about this

If you can sneak the bat all the way around the bases without the umps noticing, you get an extra run

Thank y’all for the insightful responses

Well I’ll just stop posting and watching LSU baseball
I care because I love LSU
It seems to me if Milan’s ball hits the fence and stays in
He could of gotten an extra base or even two
Carrying the bat was about an Arkansas batter
But you experts know everything

was your question not rhetorical ?

No
I stated that I didn’t know
I looked it up and there is no rule about carrying the bat to first
Although there is potential for interference on the play.
Also
Nobody answered the Milan base running question
I really don’t know
It seems to me that batters are of watching the ball when they should be running

Let’s start with that.

They have hit enough homers to know what it feels like off the bat. He knew. That’s why he wasn’t running fast.

Well that’s stupid
It just made it over the fence

College showboating. It's outlying fun but sometimes gets out of hand
See Vols.

Another dickhead
Do you have an answer to the base running when it could go either way at the fence?
How long have you been watching baseball ?
Even in MLB
You’ve never seen balls that went the other way ?
Short
Over the fence
Top of the fence
Glove on the ball
Catch or miss
I’ve only watched a few games
And I’ve seen all of these many times
But
I’m not an expert like you

That doesn’t mean he didn’t know it would go. They literally hit on this field in this stadium every day for months at a time, most of the year

Nothing worse than an expert LSU baseball fan
Than a grammar nazi
“Did you play college baseball”

I’m not writing an essay to graduate from your junior HS
This is a sports board

But in perfect English
