Because he looks like John Wooden compared to McMahon.

I don’t care about basketball so I feel like my opinion on this is pretty objective.

Will Wade won more games. I assume basketball fans like winning too.

Because Joe Alleva (AD), Ed Orgeron (FB) and Will Wade (MBB) form the fabulous favorites for our fan base. We love 5-5 and 6-7 seasons in FB, getting into hot water with the NCAA and dysfunctional athletic department........far more fun than nationally competitive football programs, national championships in wbb, baseball and gymnastics and top notch athletic administration that we have now.

Will Wade may not have been the best X&O’s coach

Not trying to ask where people got this from, I know it was the style of play Will employed that made it seem this way. CWW and CMM have a ton in common and are good friends, that having been said one thing that Will was huge into was mathematics and precise what he called units to evaluate how a game went. Just curious who are the best Xavier and Os coaches in college basketball in your opinion and there is no someone has to be right and someone has to be wrong. I actually would say Wade brought a very novel thing that started in places like the A-10 and WCC ala Gonzaga, St. Mary’s, and now is huge in the Sun Belt. All it basically is much like a football chart. This play is successful this many given times by % with this player. He would run it into the ground either by laws of averages or on a good night someone goes off they would come out ahead. It does present some problems in tight postseason ball.

Say bullshite if you want but if Wade was still here there is a possibly we would had been in at least one final four by now. I am ok with moving on but NCAA tricked us into moving on that pissed me off. This clown here now won’t even sniff SEC title.

wade almost went undefeated in conference last year.

I was at his only loss at southeastern and they almost won that game. this year he also only has one loss in conference.

mcneese was terrible, has 23 losses the year before he arrived. now they destroy the conference easily. 30 wins last year. I believe he is 33-2 in conference since arrival. he will make it this year and be 100% at mcneese on tournament entry. its not easy to make the tournament in a conference where only one team makes it.

his LSU team made the tournament every year after his first. he also made the tournament at VCU the two years before coming to LSU.

he will make the tournament again this year. his teams have made the tournament 7 of 8 of the last years, maybe more i am too lazy to look it up.

he was an excellent x and o coach. sometimes he went for isolations and let players score on their own, like they do in the NBA, rather than set plays that result in backdoor passes like princeton. Princeton does that because they don't have Tremont waters or javonte smart level athletes.

so sometimes the offense would look unstructured, but that was by design, they were forcing switches for isolations and letting athletes play. that's why almost all of the wade offenses at LSU were high scoring.

when his offense wasn't packed with scorers he also coached excellent defense. the team with tari eason was suffocating. they cause a zillion shot clock violations because they shut offenses down.

the coach was exciting and is a winner. if you don’t understand the difference between McMahon and Wade, just compare the number of victories during the same number of years. if you want to research thoroughly about Wade’s players shooting 3’s go back and watch Tremont Waters shoot.

Just like EVERY COLLEGE BASKETBALL COACH in the 1980s - 2021.

Except Trent Johnson, he didn't play such games. Of course he had a roster that was Southland Conference level.

I didn't attend the game yesterday, but watched highlights on the McNeese Sports App, and they were full of 3's.

Mcneese in the two years prior to Wade: 22-45. Mcneese with Wade: 52-10.

and he could have fewer losses but he schedules teams that are literally way out of their league, like bama

Just for the record McNeese is 22-6 with three games to go before the Southland Conference Tournament. I know LSU fans are frustrated with McMahon, but it sure is fun here in Lake Charles knowing we're likely head to our second straight NCAA Tournament. It's been a great two years with Wade and I hope he stays a third, but if not, I wish him the best.
