Thursday - 80% chance of rain (This game they should get in as the rain looks to be mostly in the morning however the field is going to be EXTREMELY sloppy from the rain this entire week)

Friday - 80% chance of rain (Friday is a complete unknown right now)

Saturday - 40% chance of rain (Again this at first glance looks to be the best bet however I'd say because of others this one could get pushed back)

Because this is asked all the time and differs Thur-Sat/Fri-Sun series I wanted to make a thread highlighting what we might or should expect.

quote:

All games played on Thursday and Friday should be scheduled for nine innings. If a postponed game is
resumed on Saturday, the regularly scheduled game shall be seven innings.

quote:

If weather prevents playing both the Thursday and Friday games, or if the Friday game does not begin
because of rain, there shall be two seven-inning games on Saturday. If a Thursday game is postponed
and no games are played on Friday, the postponed game shall be resumed on Saturday, followed by a
seven-inning game.

What does this mean? The SEC doesn't like pushing games back without decreasing the length and there is no way LSU can play on Sunday this weekend when the weather will be perfect.

In Conclusion - There will most likely be (2) 7 inning games if LSU cannot get one of their Thur or Fri games in.

I hate that rule so much. In situations like this, if we have to stick to that 3 day window, just back it up to fri-sunday, but wait, tv wont allow us. So we will likely lose 4 innings of baseball.....for tv

This has to be the worst rule ever. I get irrationally pissed off when we only play 7 inning games.

I wanted this thread so that we could exercise our anger in the week rather than right before the game.

Usually I would hate 7 inning games but with the way our bullpen is performing I’d like to make them all 7 innings

I too hate the seven inning rule. What are we, the Patriot League?

That said, with the bullpen woes we have, a pair of seven inning games might be just what the doctor ordered this weekend.

I’ve often wondered about weather in the south affecting recruiting and if some players would rather play in a drier climate out west?

Can’t push a Saturday game to Sunday. It’s stupid but an SEC rule

I'm not convinced that 7 inning games wouldn't benefit LSU as well.

It would be fitting if Paul held on to Hellmers on Sunday for tonight's game and it's cancelled.

Have you seen our bullpen?

This is a good thing!

6 IP from your starter and either Fontenot or Edwards x2.
