Who's idea was it to try Durham?

Was it Frank Wilson or BK?
Either way I'm thrilled that they had enough wisdom to try someone else at RB (not a knock on Williams or Jackson). Shows they are willing to try anything if the current situation isn't working.

They did the same thing with Emery against USC. RB by committee isn’t a bad thing

As soon as Holly was out the picture he was going to get a look. When Emery departed he was solidly in the rotation. Against Nichols he was horrid looked small and weak. Last week he showed what he could do and should get many more chances to solidify his hold as RB1.

The big question is will he get majority carries now? BK is known for humbling freshmen after a good showing

Are you talking about when they used him vs Nicholls?

I think it was the coaches who decided to put him in.

Who wants to tell him?

I do have a concern about Kaleb Jackson, that he does not have the innate ability and vision that you would think a highly rated RB at a major football program should have. I mean, don't ya'll think it's a problem that coaches have to tell any running back to run into an opening you see in your peripheral vision? This should be 9th grade stuff.

The Williams and Jackson show has been sub par. I think the coaching staff is figuring it out in just enough time. If only they could get Nuss to scramble 5 times a game. Hes fast enough, I just don’t think they let him.

Kinda got to. Thomas is getting a carry a game for 5 or 6 ypc. Jackson hasn’t hit the outside yet. Williams is the only 3 down back on the lineup

It’s not a bad thing until a back gets hot… and u still go by committee

Durham is probably our best runner but not nearly our best running back. The balance of the Rant is making the common fan mistake of judging a running back by his blocking.
Durham had much better blocking than Williams or Jackson. I don’t know why, but he did. He shows better vision than Jackson and has much better speed than Williams, but Williams is the tougher, stronger back, and he blocks and knows his assignments. Williams will continue as RB1, but I hope Durham knows his assignments and blocks well enough to pass Jackson, who is giving us nothing extra.

He's by far our best running back. Only trash would say otherwise.

Trouble is if he gets lit up we really don't have an experienced back up.

I really think Williams and Jackson would be fine if the line could open a hole at the point of attack. All bigger backs need space to get going. Unfortunately, the holes are few and far between. (He could still prob lose a few lbs to gain some quickness though).

Mine. I posted in the game thread to get the faster back in because Jackson has no vision and Williams no burst. No sooner than I hit “submit”, Durham scored his first.
You’re welcome

I'd rather know the dumb arse coach that kept Durham off the field.

Usually, position coaches control/suggest most playing time since they spend 100% of their time with the group. The position by some that Bk and company are stubborn is wild. They will constantly change things and personnel to get it right.
Committee will be the approach, why not? We don’t have a true stand out back. Roll with who is hot, but pass blocking will always play a big part if the interior line continues to struggle.
