I agree with you, but a big factor is what does Stevens want. If his goal is to play safety in the league he probably struck a bargain with Orgeron to stay if they promise to use him more as a safety. In that case we have no choice.

stevens will probably play ss in base and olb in nickel. may even be our dime lb.
he could be a first round pick as an olb. he's exactly what the nfl is looking for nowadays at that position.
urlacher was an all-american free safety in college. just sayin.

Jacoby should play all over the field. Kris Richard would do a good job with him I think if hired

There’s no way Stevens is 235 lbs. !

The following seems worth considering:
Safeties: Harris, Hampton, Vincent, Monroe, Lewis, Toles, McGlothern.
Corners: Stingley, Flott, Ward, Raydar, Ricks, Johnson.
Then Stevens and Brooks to outside LB.

100 percent agree, and was about to mention Simmons as I think that hybrid playmaker type role around the Los is what he should play. He can go in coverage but on TE's and slower big backs.

Safety or Backer, Stevens makes plays.
This. He has to be on the field 60-80% of the plays. He is going to keep improving and he is already a good player

When Vincent wasn't in man coverage and was allowed to play a more safety like role he was the best playmaker on our d IMO

QB of the defense wherever they play him. Such valuable experience at multiple positions + a very smart kid.
If they have other guys who can play multiple positions, that’s a lot of pre-snap leverage + opens up more options in responding to injury/suspension.

I agree , his cover skills aren’t all that. Plus he is almost like a Roman Harper type. Plays tough close to line of scrimmage. Just my opinion, Solo!

I don’t know about best but he was very good. I agree.

All the opposing QB knew is that he wasn't a starting corner, so they'd try to go deep. Hey, the WR already has 3 yds separation, there's NO WAY he can make that up on a bomb.
And then Vincent would reel it in.
I'd love to see Stevens in a Simmons type role, and Vincent as a deep center fielder.

Hefroze on the option keeper that hurts scored on as well as when TL ran for a TD.quote
We didn't set the edge consistently especially with Chaisson. Simple assignment but we were addicted to the rb's.
