yeah the only reason we even got 40 is they usually only sent at most 3 people back on defense.

I don't remember which football players my brother's team played against, but they had one of the closest margins of defeat that year. The poster Linkovich was on that team, maybe he'll stop by and recount the tale. Its was like '98 when it happened.

I would much rather play flag football against the baseball team. I have seen too many football players dominate on the basketball courts at the rec to have any desire of trying to compete with them.

I actually saw Kwon A. not too long ago just start passing the ball to his teammates because he was getting to the basket way too easy.

Yep. We lost by three or four. Robinson, Royal, Clark, Obryant, and a bunch of others. Clark was a dick. Royal and Obryant were cool as shite. We had played with Obrien a bunch so he knew us. I had hung out with Royal a couple times. Royal was smooth.

I remember the Football team alway brought a packed house. Our 6'6" friend caught one off the back iron from a missed free throw and had Royal between his legs. How it didn't go down is beyond me. Royal was just shaking his head. Told my buddy that he liked him and all but if he would have made that he would have punched him in the face on principle. Fun game.

ETA: The football team couldn't hold the old "Attack" teams jock though. Freaking unbelievable how good they were.

I've played basketball with a few football players. I had the misfortune of guarding Kadron Boone.

You've obviously never played a pickup game at the rec with some of the football players.

Pretty sure you could pick 5 of the best off the football team and they would beat the actual basketball team most years, not every year, but most years they probably could.
The 2003 team would have destroyed any recent LSU basketball team. Webster, Spears, Hill, Clayton

Football players are ridic athletic and most of the WRs and DBs excel at basketball. Wouldn't be that fun considering how big and fast and in shape they all are.

I saw a bunch of white kids, including some guys from Westminster almost beat a team full of football players in rec league playoffs.

Not real sure what this has to do with anything.

This is a pretty dumb statement.

Yeah. It can happen. The responses I got were pretty predictable.

I still wouldn't want to face a flag football team with Foster throwing bombs down the field to Mark Laird. They'd score at will on anyone they'd play.

I know this story is going to shock some people, but hopefully there are some posters form BRHigh who can vouch for this.

In early 2005, BRMHS had a track coach (Coach Thompson) who was real connected at LSU. He set up a "celebrity all star bball game" between some LSU football players and our best seniors. Some of the players that participated were Marcus Randall, Corey Webster, Travis Daniels, Jo Addai, Ronnie Prude, among others. I shite you not, the game went in to OT and ended in a tie (bc this was at the end of the day and the bell rang and people had to catch their bus home )

And keep in mind, BRMHS doesn't even have a bball team, these were like our "intramural all-stars."

it has to do with what you are talking about, playing them at the rec, which if you've ever played against some of the better football players in basketball at the rec, you'd understand.

I'm not talking about a college basketball game with a clock and coaching and all, a pickup game at the rec to 12. I've seen them play each other before, the football players are just as good, sometimes better.
You think b/c ben voogd was on the basketball team he's better than the football players?
I"m talking about a basketball team that outside from 5 kids from the BR area that one year, hasn't really amounted to much lately.

I never knew Snoop came to play! I do remember Ron Mercer one day at the rec bc Master P was his agent or friend or whatever. Mercer was just loafing around while everyone else played hard and he was still unbelievably good.

Any basketball team with Early Doucet on it would have been formidable. Kid could play.
