New school next gen "tiger fans" and their instant gratification problems will still whine and demand he's fired if he loses to Bama and/or doesn't "win out" and take the "natty" in his first season.

Downvoters, why do you hate LSU?

I don’t care if you believe me or not. My comment is basically for the dumbasses that said if he doesn’t win sec in yr 2 he is a failure and never will. Of course I responded with does that apply to Jimbo also...because he will probably never win the sec while Saban is at Bama

According to all the O detractors a coach should win the SEC in his 2nd season...Jimbo won’t so will he still be highly regarded is the question

No I saw it being discussed not long ago. Something to the effect every coach who has won the sec since 2003 did so in their 2nd yr. my guess is goldrush said it but it could’ve been Damone or Ricky

Yes. Have also seen it numerous times. Prove us wrong.

Optimistic much? I don't think Orgeron has what it takes to get us that far. Time will tell.

But I agree, CUM over CJM.

he won in a weak ACC and left Fla St in the trash heap. He has yet to prove anything in the SEC and won't. He is way overpaid and no where near worth is salary. So no, don't want.

Absolute truth.
Once Winston was done, so was Jimbo.

yeah man jimbo was so shitty at LSU and FSU. never had any record breaking offense, never could develop QB's, never won any titles. GTFO clown.

I support our coach but we shouldn’t compare him to a guy for whom 3-4 losses is a terrible year if we are gonna call that a great year for our coach. Seems incongruent and kind of a weird hill to die on

Urban left Florida in shambles. Didn’t stop him from winning a NC at his next job.

Do we get an elite QB to go with him? That's the only way he wins, he going to ruin TAM watch.

If I had to listen to all his canned speeches I would puke. All phases all phases of the blas bla.

He could develop them if they were already phenomenal before he ever laid eyes on them.

If he was so good at developing QB's then why did FSU go 7-6 (3-5) in 2017 when Francois got hurt?

Why didn't he develop the QB who had to play that season? Too busy? Didn't care? Got tired of developing QB's?

They lost to NC ST at home, Miami at home, lost 35-3 to Boston College.

Why didn't he develop the backup QB?

After Jimbo had his agent call FSU before the season ended to tell them he quit and then hauled arse without as much of a "F you later" to any players, FSU had to reschedule a cancelled game against Louisiana-Monroe to become bowl eligible.

I don't think Eaux should be compared to a guy who can't even get the 2nd most talented team in a shitty conference bowl eligible.

Jimbo has the same number of titles as Les and Gene Chizik. Why don’t we just call them instead? He won in a weak conference and has yet to prove he can win big in the SEC.

And like Chizik and Mack Brown, with a rare/freak QB. Winston is to Jimbo what Can was to Chizik and VY was to Mack Brown.

Until Jimbo repeats the trick, he is not to be viewed as great.

Absolutely not. Without a heisman QB, Jimbo hasn’t done much.

More than that, my impression of Jimbo is verrry low because of the way he runs his program. From what I’ve heard on this board and through A&M peeps, he is totally disorganized, allows the inmates to run the asylum, and I think it’s pretty telling that only one coach from his staff at FSU followed him to A&M (I think it was the TE coach). Jimbo does a lot of things right, but what he does wrong is really not good. I just wouldn’t trust him to lead a program. He’s actually my biggest concern with Woodward, who I love in spite of his Jimbo hire.
