No, it's really not. Pedophile proclaiming their innocence is not new. You have zero evidence that the ex-wife made any false allegation, none.

If be really did it, why does the brother still have a great realistionship with his parents who maintain Luke’s innocence, and how in the holy hell does that brother still attend functions with Luke?
Weddings and holidays with the family are supposed to be missed by the victim's father? I suspect there wasn't much contact between the two at those events since the pedophile cannot be around the younger kids in the family, especially the victim. The brother does not speak to Luke, that's what is most telling. The rest of this is of no matter.

You think she loves the idea of , what is possibly the most painful chapter of her life, being used to make signs and talk sht relative to a baseball game?

I doubt, but certainly don’t know how she feels; but strictly operating with perspective and common sense, I can’t imagine any of it puts a smile on her face.

I assume he’s on television and I do not watch it except for sports and movies. Ergo: no rock, but no knowledge of Senor Hansen. Not being highbrow about it. Just old and disinterested. Mahalo!

I’ve heard all the talk about Oregon State letting him play,
but I’ve never seen any remarks about high school.
He was able to play his high school season just a few months
after his conviction. That is a bigger travesty than Orgegon state
letting him play 3 Year’s later. How did this happen?

You have to educate the kids in your district, and I assume allow participation in extracurricular.

You do not have to give a scholarship or place on a team in college.

The two are not comparable

So you are saying that you can kick a kid off the team in high school for smoking dope
but not molesting a child.

Kids get kicked off or not allowed to play sports in high school for numerous reasons.
Hard to imagine this wouldn’t be one of them

Sounds like the ex-wife of the older brother was mad that she didn't get custody of her kids after the divorce and planted some info. Going by that article which is really all I have to go on since it has the most info on this is he was never home when his mother watched all those kids anyway. Who fricking knows though

What would it take for you to plead guilty to child molestation if you were innocent? No fricking chance that I would plead guilty "to avoid going to trial." The dude molested the kid in some fashion...and he should be banned from playing collegiate and professional sports.

If my options are having 12 jurors in the most liberal progressive state in the country (near Seattle) decide my fate in this modern environment (where we believe accusers 100% of the time on principal), or just take the safe route that guarantees that my life is normal by the time I'm 22, I'm taking the safe route and taking the plea.

This was in 2012. Dude did it. While you can read that one sided article in his defense, we haven't seen the accuser's side. The victim has stuck to her story all these years. The father of the victim who has no love lost for his ex still does not talk to his brother, the perpetrator. I guarantee that slime doesn't want the details to come out. He's happy to keep up the denials while the truth is sealed away.

Damn dude, you are such a try-hard.

As for all the people saying this has to do with the Tigers playing up there, you are full of shite.

Do you review everybody’s record before attending NFL, NBA, etc games? You could have a field day there.

You guys wanting to take signs...I assume are the guys who will now protest Morgan Freeman movies and shows?

At this point, whether he did it or not means jack shite to the outcome of a baseball game. Are you going to try to get under his skin? This will definitely get some of our finest fans on the Mothership and every other sports station.

Why most people think he could easily be innocent is because the mother of the daughter could have made it up. She was in a ugly divorce at the time and was in a custody battle over the daughter (that she then lost).

I just read the SI article on his case. He was accused of offending twice, once when the girl was 4 and once when she was 6. The custody battle was taking place while the first accusation was made (when the girl was 4). When then second accusation was made, the father (Luke’s brother who had been granted custody of the child) was the one who contacted the police and pressed charges. He also severed all ties with his brother. Your story about a pissed off ex-wife doesn’t make a ton of sense. I have small children. They make up shite all the time. But they typically don’t make up graphic lies, especially lies about the same individual over a 2 year span. Odds are this guy did abuse his niece.
With that said, I’m conflicted about him on so many levels. There is a small chance that he didn’t do it. I also believe that people can change and that we shouldn’t punish folks forever for past crimes. In the end, I’m glad he is on your team and not mine. I’ll let you deal with the cognitive dissonance instead of me.

I'm a "try hard" because I disagree with the attempts to minimize the molestation and the attempts to create unsupported theories to exonerate the perpetrator?
