Still think you can't go wrong with Coleman? He could not get four outs against Louisiana Tech. I like Coleman, but he is no where near as advanced as Hurd, and neither is Anderson.

never said you cant go wrong with him... i just said that he is a starter and not a bullpen guy... i would know... i coached him... i believe Kade Anderson is the real deal and should get a shot at the weekend rotation.. he and griffen herring and Ack... those are my 3 that i believe have EARNED and shot at it..

Hate to rag on a guy when he's struggling, but Hurd has had his chance and simply not performed.

There's plenty of time.

However, I'm of the opinion that having a quality RHP in the pen might be more valuable for this team. I'd like to see what Anderson can do with the Sunday spot.

Ack needs to stay in the pen and come in for relief. Thats his bread and butter, not starting

I feel a lot different about last nights pitching after listening to CJJ's postgame.

He said Coleman was sick before the start and just ran out of juice. I'm not nervous about Coleman's starts if he was just sick last night. He will continue to get chances to start. (I assume Tuesday night games)

Watching the game I was surprised we were using Herring, Loer, Ulloa, Moffit, Cam Johnson, and Bucknam on a Tuesday night. But, CJJ explained he wanted the win for RPI reasons because Tech will be the best RPI non conference we have for the rest of the season. That makes sense and shows how CJJ thinks ahead on everything.

CJJ also joked about the 10 run rule because he wanted to get 3 pitchers in during the ninth inning.

After the Mississippi State Series, CJJ commented on how many pitchers had seen action so far this season. He said it was the most amount of pitchers he has ever had seen game action. I think he said we have had 16 or 17 guys pitch this year.

All in all, we have so many pitchers CJJ is giving many of them small game time or situational pitching to help get developed.

While the pitching didn't look good against Miss State, I'm confident that we have a great staff that will just get better as the season progresses.

Let’s go with Anderson. I believe his command is better than Coleman’s.

I wonder what was up with Coleman last night? Velo was down and there was zero control

I heard coach say after the game was over that Coleman got sick right before the game started.

He faced something like 5 batters in his first relief appearance of the season, not to mention his first road SEC appearance. I guess Holman should be out of the rotation too since he gave up 10 hits on Friday.

Ack was a starter before transferring to LSU. He also had an amazing start against Tenn in the CWS throwing 6 shutout innings.

Then you take your best reliever out of the pen. Would rather see him there. Keep Hurd in the Sunday spot or someone else.

Right now Anderson is not ready from the looks of the Miss State game. I would keep Hurd, he got better last year as the year went and got more starts. Let him keep going. You can bring Ack out the pen in a long relief or to close if you need him.
