How many assholes will reply in a thread and not answer or provide anything related to the topic. Well one for sure. Bama will be favored because Bama never loses a game only beats themselves.

Bama -3.5 O/U 36

This looks pretty realistic, although I think the O/U should be higher. In a series where points are always at a premium, I think we get total points closer to the 2013 game than 2011, 2012 or 2014. Our defense will likely give up some big plays from coverage busts, and our offense will put up points. We've been really balanced the last three weeks, and our yards per play is basically 7.2 for the season. Plus, I expect us to put a few new wrinkles in the game plan like we did against Auburn and Florida to generate big plays. They won't hold us under 3 TDs, IMO

Bama -3.5 O/U 36. Does that mean a final score of Bama 20, LSU 16?

But when you factor in the home team and all the other intangibles and the way the media loves Alabama, they will more than likely be favored by 1 to 3 points or it could be a "pick em"

why do people think the media sets the lines???

bama will be favored, or is favored because people in vegas think they will win, or did when they opened up the line. watch which way it moves, if it moves more in bamas favor, lots of money being put on them, which means people that bet think bama will win, if it moves towards us, the opposite.

I think it will open at Bama -5, and probably move down to -2.5 by gametime

I've got lots of bad habits but gambling is not among them..I'm a businessman. Gambling is a business. My understanding is there is a cut taken out of each bet. If true, the only way the house or bookie loses is if the book is out of balance? The line is adjusted to balance the bets on each side...f**k football, if the book is balanced those people make their money...am I missing something? The line has only a casual relationship, if any, to the game. Please correct me if I'm wrong...by the way, graduate of LSU college of business, class of '71, but this is just good old common sense...
Geaux Tigers, spank that Bama arse.

Do you have any idea how much money would have to move to LSU for the line to move like that???

The line was projected at -7.5 lat week and not much has happened to change that.

According to Phil Steele about 10 minutes ago...

Current at @LVSuperBook Westgate
Alabama is favored by 6' over LSU.

So it looks like it's already moved through the key number

The line is set to get equal money bet on both teams. This may or may not be related to which team is better.

This is not the case anymore. It plays a small factor but there are plenty of times where 80% of the bets will be on one team over the other and the line will barely move.

Let's see what happens to that rating after the Fla/Ga game this weekend…got a feeling Gators are going to take it pretty impressively.

Agreed, vegas doesn't "think bama will win", as stated earlier.
