Most teams schedule terrible OOC games. Of course OOC losses will be rare among good teams.
Clemson last year played at A&M and plays USCe every year. Bama 2017 opened against top 5 FSU.
Clemson 2016 opened at Auburn.
Do I need to keep going?

Most P5 teams get 4 non cons (except the P12) and you find a few examples of teams playing a decent OOC game.
Most likely half of all P5 teams don't even play one competitive OOC team.
Now, which hurts your chances to win a conference title more
Losing to Texas
Losing to Alabama
It's very simple.

6-6 FSU

Basically had 4 favored teams lose the last two weeks that were ranked over us
Well that’s just plain incorrect, Roger.
West Virginia was the only team that was ranked above us and was favored and lost, and it was just the championship weekend.
We lost the last game of the season, dropping to #7, which was BS to begin with.
1. West Virginia
2. Missouri
3. Ohio State
4. Georgia (2 losses)
5. Kansas
6. Virginia Tech (2 losses)
7. LSU (2 losses)
Missouri had already lost to Oklahoma and were underdogs again in the Big 12 CG, and they lost as expected.
Ohio State moved to #1 when both WV and Missouri lost, and we jumped 1 loss Kansas who was never getting into a title game, an idle UGA team that didn’t play in the SECCG (no Bama bias for Richt), and a V Tech team that we beat by 35 points earlier in the year after we won the SECCG.
LSU needed one upset, Pitt over WVU in a huge rivalry game.
And those are poll rankings btw, we never even dropped below Kansas or VT in the BCS rankings.

It wouldn't stand out except we were the BCS NCs
I don’t disagree that 2 losses was an aberration and wouldn’t have happened again, but the 2007 season was wildly popular and still celebrated as the year of the upset.
And we were undisputed as the best team in the nation, unlike 03 where we split the title and many didn’t believe we were the best team.

Being undefeated in regulation does mean something. That team showed up every week and played great, again, unlike 03 where we laid a complete egg at home against a Zook team.
Regardless, we won the BCSCG, just like this part team deserves great praise for winning a NY6 Bowl we snuck into in an otherwise average 9-3 year, right Rog?

You've been touting Auburn and Miami as top 10 wins since September.

But on the whole those two guys got better. So now you're limiting it to just the two bad guys to try to make your point.
Miles didnt groom these two guys...they were experienced when they stepped foot on campus.

So Orgeron has yet to develop a single quarterback?

They get lost in it being Troy
I meant to say this earlier but I agree with you here. It’s way past time to get over Troy. All coaches loss games and all coaches have bad losses but over time those need to be put in perspective.
AT THE TIME it was a total disaster. There were legit questions about whether O was qualified for this job and after that game along with MSU it looked like he was in way over his head. To his credit he bounced back and won every game but 1 in the regular season starting with the come back on Auburn. Yeah it was fortunate to catch some really down SEC teams but you can only play who’s on the schedule And last year was a top 10 finish. The Troy loss doesn’t matter.

right.....who's making the argument that he has?

My point is Miles was here over a decade and never figured it completely out with the QBs.

They were. The record books will prove me correct...you saying I am wrong?
I laughed bc yall argue rankings when game played doesn't matter and I also find it funny that the guy everyone including me wanted to replace Miles went 5-6 with a top 5 preseason team.

Everyone who's said he's "fixed" the QB position.

Great post, I said the same thing on the previous page. 2 minor corrections. Mizzo was 1 WVU was 2 and we were 7 in the BCS 5 in the human polls. But after winning the SEC we going to pass UGA and Kansas without question and VT who we shouldn’t have been behind anyway so worst case was 4, 3 if we assume all the favorites won.
Not that anyone should care since they got pounded in the BCSCG But Nebraska needed a lot more help to get in in 2001

96 and yes they lost to FSU and beat them in the rematch. They also need help including a big upset to have a shot at the title game but only Les was “lucky” and backed into a title
