Zach Mettenberger. I didn't grow up in LA, but experienced it as a student.

Alan Risher ‘82 and I was 6. Remember LSU and Tulane holding an actual scrimmage in West Jefferson stadium before the season started (May have been spring of ‘82). I remember some LSU helmets not even having stickers. Also recall it storming during the scrimmage. Then during the season, my dad goin crazy after the 20-10 win over Bama. Vividly remember the Orange Bowl as well. 1st game in person was the Washington game the following season and the rest is history.

I remember Ensminger and Woodley, but really became a fan when Alan Risher was QB.

I believe 1979 was the last year we fielded a freshman football team. They played home games on Friday night/afternoon on the turf at Bernie Moore. Alan Risher was the QB for the freshman team that year.

1978 game vs ole miss. I was 9 yo at the time. Pops got some tickets to the LSU Ole Miss game. We had recently moved from Mississippi and we were ole miss fans at the time. After that game I became a die hard tiger fan. Many years later I went to LSU at age 30 to get a degree. Graduated with BS in 01 then masters in 04 so that made me a legit fan and no longer a sidewalk fan. Lol
