korte vs kenny irons
true. guess I should have said as a student. maybe i'm just basing it on how stupid the kid was at Fontainebleau in comparison to everyone else.

if he did everything better than laron and was 0.02 slower while being 20 lb heavier, how is he not noticeably more athletic than laron?
Korte was only better is the 3 cone and short shuttle.
Landry was faster, jumped 4" higher, and 4" longer in the broad jump
but since u took on field production from the very start by mentioning Cassanova, there is no way you can say Korte was a better athlete considering LAndry was a 4 year starter

no i meant let's run it out b/c irons was a fricking retard

He was the first player in NFL history to score a td on a kickoff return AND a punt return in the SAME GAME and did it against a really strong SF 49ers team.
He could do a 360 reverse dunk as a sophmore in HS and was recruited by every major program in the country (Indiana NC) as a basketball player. He led his team to a state Championship in basketball.
He hit around 500 as a HS baseball player and led his HS to a state championship in that spot as well.
He lasted about 8/9 years in the NFL.
You left out:
Got an offer to play Basketball at Bama (Point Guard).
Won state in High School Tennis (Doubles).
Oh, his brother was one of the best golfers in the NFL during his time.

I heard irons and his brother both liked candy

this thread is about athletic freaks
Posted on 8/9/09 at 1:39 pm to King Joey
it takes athleticism to be an athletic freak
i don't think i'm distorting what an athletic freak is by discussing what makes a guy athletic and how we measure it

and that has nothing to do with combine numbers and everything to do with playing football on a football field
which makes it even funnier that you regard Korte as the freakiest athlete since Mr Cassanova

And now we progress into the "SlowFlow explains how you cannot possibly be a great football player if you don't have outstanding measurables at the NFL combine, except for all those guys who did, but he has some great excuses for how they don't prove him wrong" portion of the thread.
It's an oldie but a goldie.
You also missed the backhaded compliment to LSU portion of the playlist, how LSU's best freak thlete is a guy who didn't actually, well, PLAY for LSU. Or another classic, SFP sets himself up as the expert/arbiter of all things regarding football kowledge, which was the implicit assumption of this thread.
You don't want to set up a conversation. You want all of us to try and grovel for your approval. Hence the concept of Indy having the correct answer. Conversation and debate doesn't have a judge. And if it did, it certainly wouldn't be you.
Honestly, I'm just tired of your schtick. And it is a schitick. After five years, it's gotten stale and boring.

man you live a paranoid life and i thought you were better than these ranter-ish assumptions

so does that make indy my god?

and how we measure it
Cassanova is a freak because he played 5 positions
Korte is a freak because he didnt play at all
great measurements and logic right there

man stop getting held up in the cassanova talk
it was an assumption b/c of his dominance at positions that requires major athleticism and ability to shift to positions that requires different athleticism.
i wasn't around to see him. you weren't around to see him. and i wouldn't trust any testing done around this time
he was only brought up b/c LSU doesn't seem to produce freak athletes and i couldn't think of any during the modern era. indy thought of one, however
Posted on 8/9/09 at 1:44 pm to SlowFlowPro
Why isn't playing offensive line athletic? Because Alan Faneca was pretty damn athletic. Though, for the life of me, I can't find the energy to care about his forty time. Isn't being a dominant lineman athletically freakish enough?

i discussed that in my post where i listed examples
i almost brought up whitworth (who ran sub 4.9 at like 320 which is impressive) until indy posted korte

i cant stop, its fricking hilarious. You shouldn't have brought his name into it at all if you are going to go on a combine numbers spree. It just makes your argument that much more laughable.

you dont even know if he dominated every position.
