I was there, and the Assembly Center was rocking! It was in January of 1978. 3OT win after all the starters fouled out-amazing!

I was there.

I remember a black fraternity starting the Who Dat at one of the games at the PMAC that year. It was the first time I'd heard it. Crazy.

I think St. Aug used that cheer before that. It's on the LSU band CD.

Camped out overnight to get in the Assembly Center, and still had a crappy seat!

was there. I asked my roommate if he wanted to go and he laughed at me and said he knows who is going to win. I did not miss any LSU football or Basketball game while I was a student at LSU.

The passion in the PMAC back then was absolutely amazing. Daddy Dale was a great find for LSU in my opinion.

I was there with my cousin, one of the best basketball games ever witnessed. Section L26 Seats 5 and 6. I f I remember correctly Rick Mattick was a 7 footer and a Freshman and believe it or not , hit some crucial free throws in the final OT to help get the win.

Yep, never forget.

I couldnt score a ticket so that morning I walked around the P-Mac outside till I found an open door, ground level.

Thousands were camped out on the ramp.

I walked in the door, thru locker room, and voila I was In.

But I had to find a place to hide hangout for three hours till gates open.

So I looked up, and the tv guys were setting TV cameras way up high.

I trucked up the stairs to the top, and just asked the guys if I could hang by them. They said sure, they knew I had snuck in.

So I fittle farted around with them till gates opened !!!

Definitely the most exciting game I've ever seen in person. Saw it with my dad. We were standing on our seats in that 2nd OT and it was so loud we couldn't hear each other. The play that brought the house down was the dunk by the double knee-braced Floyd "The Dubberly Dude" Bailey.

Sat on the second to last row from the top. Loved every minute. I did not even know who the subs were, but they sure did have a great 3 year run after that.
