I don't see how it has hurt us. Thompson fumbles routine plays at SS too. He also makes web gems so you kinda take the good with the bad.

They are swapping them because Dugas' shoulder is holding on by a thread...Have you seen him throw lately?

The dude is doing tricep extensions trying to get the ball to first base.

I didn’t realize how bad it must be until last night - there was a play where Dugas caught the relay from left/center and instead of throwing it in, he ran it in most of the way.

That had nothing to do with his arm health. Play was dead and he ran the ball back in the infield.

Thompson is a decent SS but absolutely a liability at the plate. Hopefully he got a good degree because he definitely is not moving on to the next level.

I like it against pull hitting lefties. I don’t really understand why they would do it against someone like Ahuna though.

He will almost undoubtedly be drafted somewhere in the top 10 rounds and get a pretty good signing bonus

They’ve been doing it since the SEC tournament and you just noticed it last night because Thompson booted a routing ground ball he shouldn’t.

I would say that makes it effective.

His shoulder may or may not be messed up but this is pretty standard. Things can go wrong when you throw the ball, run it into the infield and call time.

It is an always an adventure wherever Thompson fields the ball.

Swapping your SS and 2nd baseman for left handed hitters is one of the stupider things I've seen. Almost makes me wonder if Dusty Baker came up with it.
