like it was yesterday. i brought my late father to the game and he was from kentucky originally and a big wildcat fan. the pmac was rocking and it was great to finally give the old man shite about kentucky basketball. if my memory is correct, mike also got ejected from that game for impersonating the refs posing as a blind man. boy, LSU had some exciting teams in those days; daddy dale was a character.

It was a LA State Trooper dressed as Mike. Tactical Unit.

Did it once in 80 or 81 on Halloween night, with Mike dressed as Dracula. The crowd went wild!

Who remembers Mark Jeffers (he played the role of Mike back in the day) getting in trouble with the SEC for mocking the refs by wearing a ref shirt, dark glasses and using a cane to feel in front of him during a game????
That guy was one of the better "Mikes" of all time, IMHO...

My uncle actually did it a few times. He was a manager of the assembly center back in the day. He was a student at lsu for like 12 years.
I remember my dad kept his Harley in there too. He lived on the lsu lakes and didn't have a garage. I used to hang out there a lot when shaq and Chris Jackson were there. I even snuck around and watched some practices as a kid. Good times

Seems I remember hearing it was actually a local swat team cop that repelled down in a Mike The Tiger suit - either way, what the hell , let's try it again.

Agreed, but I want to test my memory here: Didn't they once have the fake Mike repel down with the real Mike when he was a cub? I think it was when Mike V was taking over Mike IV, but I am admittedly sketchy on this. It would have been in the late 80's or early 90's.

I remember him getting in a shoving match with an opposing team after pretending to eavesdrop on their huddle. I believe the SEC suspended him a couple of games.
