Yep, couldn’t forget your newspapers back then.

Watch the clip on youtube of shaq dunking on grant hill. Billy Packer says something along the lines of this is exactly what Mike Krzyzewski is looking for in his out of conference scheduling. He'll never be in a tougher place to play.

Vanderbilt followed suit and actually had a technical foul that cost them a game for throwing so many tennis balls. We got lucky.
And that loss wound up costing them the 1989 SEC Title.

I use to sit by the student section.. This was before I was even in college.. In the mid and late 90s. It was hilarious hearing all the stuff they would say. For some reason I remember this, but I think LSU was playing Nicholls and they had a guy on their team that had a patch of white hair on his head.
They were giving him a hard time and someone yelled "who cummed in your hair?". Dude turned around and yelled "your momma's" and all the other students started laughing at the guy who yelled out "who cummed in your hair". Some of the old people that sat near them would have a look on their face as if they couldn't believe what they were hearing, but they use to give it to the other teams.. And if one of the players would give them the least amount attention, as if they were getting to them, they would go even harder..

How much would it cost to give T-shirt’s to the students before each sec and big non conference game? Sponsors I’m sure would pay for it.

Vernel and Jerry Reynolds had some "skywalker" moments also as Dick Vitale would say

Was actually the Assembly Center back in the day

I actually was a front row lunatic. I was at LSU 76-81. Good times and great memories. Seating was first come first served so we always got to the dome way in advance. When we played Kentucky we camped out on the ramps 24 hrs in advance. It was colder than a well diggers arse. We snuck in a few times and hid under the roll out bleachers. Damn security always busted us and kicked us out. The day of the game Dale brown let us come in several hours before tip off. g
Great guy and he would always acknowledge us.

I was there from '77 - '81. Those crowds were awesome and we were virtually unbeatable at home. It'll neva be better, trust me.

79-80 & 80-81 Teams were The Best I've ever seen.
Oh man, those were some solid teams. And the nicknames players had. Don't have nicknames for players anymore. Wish we could start that for this team. Rudy Toot, Cookieman, Astronaut, Swat etc. I got one for Emmitt already, Snowbird. Anybody that saw him in the Jordan/Brand Classic know what I mean.

Was at every home BB game from 1978-1983, but don’t recall the Tiger Lunatic name.
Do recall Deaf Dome, Cookieman, The Astronaut, Swat Mitchell, Rudy, E Martin, The Black Jet, & Hi-C.
Oh, & cringing when Hultberg went in the game...

I was there for Chris Jackson and Shaq. I remember waiting in line —- I remember LSU playing Russia and we got T-shirt’s.
“Glastnost”! I remember that shirt well and kept it a LONG time.
Was in the 2AM Club in ‘89. Unreal experience w/coach Brown, CJ, Shaq, Stanley, Vernel, Mo, and Boudreaux. Unbelievably talented team.

Ah, we'd get blasted for it now but it was a blast throwing tennis balls at Florida's Dwayne Schintzius (RIP).
“Shithead Schintzius” clap clap clap clap clap.

We were called The Front Row Lunatics. We eventually got T shirts with the name on it. That was the best era for LSU basketball ever

A number of the original “Front Row Lunatics” worked at Steve Carter’s Tennis ?? Center on Highland Road at the Northgates of campus. Several went on to wonderful careers and are pillars of Baton Rouge.

That calendar poster with the team all around the car was awesome. Were they holding machine guns?

Original Front Row Lunatic 74-79.
Was on the very front row with Mrs Hammer the night the Tigers took down mighty Kentucky with all 5 of our starters fouled out.
Me and Mrs Hammer still happily married and the refs are still cheating for Kentucky ????

Raise your hand if the late great Hank Gathers shot the bird at you.
