Different Standard. LSU has been a Football Power for years. First Championship in 58.

Wade was consistent. The only BB Head Coach who made the tourney every year except his first.

Definitely true, no argument there…. But reality is reality… National titles will never be forgotten.

In 50 years, no one will remember Wade’s tenure at LSU… it’ll just be a line item on Wikipedia.

I know a guy who played for him. Sounds like he was not a great guy to play for by any means what so ever.

BS. In fifty years, you telling us that students at LSU, who will be in their 70's, won't remember Wade? Johnny Jones or Johnson, sure. But Will Wade will be remembered for decades.
Those Locker Room celebration photos will forever be in real fans' memories.

O achieved what he wanted to where he wanted to. Guess you could say he “quit” after his job was done.

The question was favorite. Les and O’s times were both up and several were happy to see them go. I could see how some wouldn’t consider either a favorite even with them both winning a natty.

I am not too old, but Will Wade is the first coach to get me excited about basketball. I wasn’t a fan of the sport at the college level until he came to LSU, Just being honest. I think Wade is a unique situation in where I understand those that are upset at him and I also understand those who still appreciate what he accomplished at LSU. I just know he got me into a sport I had no desire to watch previously. Thankfully that has carried over with other coaches now, but I’ll always appreciate his love for LSU.

It’s amazing how strongly some posters feel about a fired coach……seeing that it seems that at many points throughout every season they all want every coach fired anyway.
