He dressed as a team player for the Heisman Ceremony while the others were dressed as “look at me”.... I respect his drip!

LOL. SpongeBob square pants socks with a suit? Elegance?
He looked fine except for the silly socks. But, to each his own.
Note: teachers kids (Joe is one) usually know how to dress properly on an occasion.

Hey! He's a college kid and a celebrity to boot. Overall his attire was immaculate. Gotta let him have a little fun with the socks. Lord only knows what undies he might have been wearing!
Suit looked good, shoes looked good, he likes Sponge Bob so socks were cool too. Nothing at all disrespectful or overly flashy about his attire for the award presentation. And, he looked damned fine in his tux for the following banquet. The kid has class.

Heaven forbid Joe wears something that he likes and that is fun.
These kids have unique personalities and lives, they aren't just robots playing football for GeorgeWest's entertainment.
