Landry will be highly involved since he’s highly involved with the next president, which will hire the next AD, who will hire the next football coach.

With Woodward's track record with both Jimbo ($77 Million Buyout)

Jfc this board doesn't stop with the dumb. Fishers contract was extended after Scott left aggie. That buyout is far more on the current AD than him.

Do you think SW hired both of those coaches by his own unilateral power?

Woodward was the driving force, and he even tried to briJimbo Fisher to LSU.

He has hired some of the most prestigious coaches going back to sark and peterson. But sure, clearly you know someone better at galvanizing a fanbase, getting big money donors and then executing large contracts. Which, by the way, is something every elite school has been doing with coaches contracts. Isnt just an lsu problem

Uh, he hired McMahon who will NEVER be a good power 4 HC. Mulkey and Johnson were no brainers due to their history of winning NCs. He had to actually make a decision to hire McMahon who had PROVEN nothing as a head coach at Murray State where he had an all world player in a mid-level conference. You think McMahon was a good hire? Oh, and before you bring up the NCAA threat, if you aren't a coward, you stand up to the SOBs.

I’ve never voted for a democrat in my life. Landry is an imbecile and has turned this into an unnecessary political ordeal.

The fact you’re supportive of it isn’t shocking at all though. The next time you’re right about something re: LSU football will be the first time.

He wasn’t trusted to. An AD that can’t hire a HC can’t be AD.

Exactly. Hiring a football coach is an AD’s most important task and Woodward failed at his last 2 hires and cost a fortune in buyout money. Woodward had to go, and it was very unlikely the new president would have retained him.

He’s said a lot of things this week that are blatant lies. To be fair, I think he stays away from the hire so he can distance himself from it when it becomes a problem. But if the hire works out, he will be front and center taking credit.

What about them? Any football school an AD gets one football hire if that hire fails. That’s how it works. Do you think lsu is not a football school?

This would happen at every SEC school minus maybe Kentucky. This would happen at most of the big 10. This would happen at half the ACC and most of the big 12. Football is the beast that matters unless you are the Kentucky Kansas Duke UNC type schools of basketball. Those are the department life systems.

1) Woodward screwed the pooch on the men's basketball coach.

2) Kim Mulkey was already an established star coach, and wanted to return to Louisiana. Woodward also paid her way above the market.

3) Woodward gets much credit for Jay Johnson, but given his track record he ether got lucky or took a baseball man's advice.

Extensions actually annoy me more. Especially if I feel they were unnecessary at the time they were done. That is just my opinion. I was upset when LSU called Les Miles' bluff and extended him. I was also upset when they extended O. I don't care if he won a Natty. Who was still coming after O at that time?

Yeah, you hit a nerve with me for sure. Absolutely "love" the rollovers where the coach NEVER loses a year on his contract. Talk about INSANE on the part of ADs. At least Kelly's didn't have that. If I remember correctly, Jiimbo Fisher's DID have that rollover which is why his was so expensive.

I think most people understand what needed to happen. It’s the optics of everything and the way it went down. It makes things at LSU and the job look bad and less attractive. I am hoping we can somehow salvage all this by hiring a good football coach. Honestly, it’s really the most important hire for the entire athletic department.

Jimbo was a failure at A&M. Who brought him there? Who was it that also wanted Jimbo to come to LSU?

They’re going to absolve him of everything now because like all of their narratives the truth goes right out the window in favor of their estrogen filled nonsense.

Don’t sell yourself short like that, you can make it up and much more. You’re doing it in this thread, lying about who you and I voted for, inventing childish conspiracy theories about hires. You’re good at making things up.
