LSUs offense is what carried them this season it was not Paul Skenes. Yes the guy was almost a guaranteed win when he pitched but he only played in 1 out of every 4 games so to say he carried the team is an inaccurate statement

LSU was 11-8 in regular season SEC games that Skenes didn’t pitch. 8-2 when Skenes pitched.

Ingrid Lindblad was incredible this year!

She improved her fairways hit by 15% while still increasing her average drive by 9 yards. That's no easy feat. Not to mention the attention she received this year gave her so much added pressure, but she stepped up the tee and delivered time and time again.

She was easily the star of this past athletic season.

I get what you’re saying but couldn’t you make the case for any teams #1?

Yes he did very well nobody denies it but 1 single player did not “carry” this team like you stated.

Sometimes I think I'm a huge lsu fan and then someone post women's golf players and I realize I'm not that huge of a fan

Skenes over Reese just do to generational domination. But I think its close. Angel just put Lsu womens basketball on the map and made it the face of collegiate women's sports. Lsu baseball was and has been highly thought of nationally.

Yeah LSU being .800 in SEC games Skenes pitched and .579 in SEC games he didn’t pitch is just a coincidence.

LSU went 4-5 the last 3 SEC weekends with 3 of those wins being games Skenes started. He was by far the MVP of the team and the glue that held them together while they went through a rough patch. And thus LSU athlete of the year.

Crews and Skenes will split the baseball vote, leaving it to Resse.
