Who knows, TCU has a much easier road to get back, regardless of talent.

One program lucked their way to a single national championship appearance. The other has the 2nd most championships in the last 20 years and has won one with each of its last 3 coaches. Which do you think?

Both. Doesn't the 12 team start next year?

If you would pick TCU, I’m willing to make a personal bet with you.

Probably LSU.

TCU may be starting our 3rd sting QB. I’d you’ve ever watched LSU football, you’d know the LSU 3rd string QB isn’t exactly playoff worthy.

They were a fluke this year. Many felt that Bama, or Tennessee would have been a more worthy playoff team.

I wouldn't be surprised to see TCU devolve to mediocrity in 2023. Their conference includes Baylor, Oklahoma, Okie State and Iowa State who all had disappointing seasons last year. They'll improve, and Texas & K-State will be strong. And don't forget upstart Kansas.

It wouldn't surprise me for TCU to go 6-6 this season.

Better question would be, which has the better chance of actually winning a CFC? Of course the answer is LSU!

It’s about to go to 12 so 2024 is realistic for both programs especially with OU and Texas joining the SEC

Not in a 4 teamer. Have to go undefeated

They barely got in this year and got embarrassed. The committee won't do that again. Any team that plays a schedule that weak will have to go undefeated and skull drag every opponent to even be considered and I don't see that happening for TCU.

They won their first playoff game, proving that they belonged in the playoffs. That they were manhandled by Georgia hardly makes your point.

How hard to you think it is going to be to win the Big 12 once Texas and Oklahoma leave? I think both probably get in the 1st year of the expanded playoff.

The big12 is now without their two biggest brands.

So would that mean it’s an easier road? I do think Texas and OU are growing to be better teams so it would be easier.

However, strength of schedule including your four toughest teams that I suppose would be these:

KSU
OSU
Baylor
iSU

That’s a tragic loss of brands they had.
TCU will have to take a FSU/Bowden approach to OOC scheduling.

But will it matter with a 12 team playoff?

TCU has an easier road to the CFP, but once it expands to 12 teams, I would take LSU in most years to be a Top 12 team.

They won a game against another team who shouldn't have been in the playoff. Só that hardly goes to prove your point. Bama and UT were both better than Michigan.

TCU needs to go undefeated or 1 loss in season we’re there are only 4 1 loss teams.

Easier schedule but very little room for mistakes. Them getting into the playoffs as a 3rd seed took as much luck as LSU getting I to The BCS with 2 loses.
