I think your comparisons are a slap in the face to larson, anderson and milam. They are a good group to start with. Cam johnson also

That's probably fair. I was overreacting a bit last night and on the sauce

Pearson is a junior. He may or may not be around next year.
Kling and Neal are next to hopeless.

I wonder if people see it yet

Milam Larson and Brown can all be top-middle of the order CWS hitters. Johnson and Anderson can be CWS starters.
That being said, LSU needs to sign the best pitcher and bat in the portal. The Kling Neal experiment/NIL investment has to end. I suspect Johnson maintained the investment in them going into this year based on their projection coming out of high school and despite what his eyes told him. No such mistakes can be made again. Throw the money at the equivalent of Montgomery and Burns in this years portal.

I can think of 5 startere on last years championship team that people said this about that lsu rode out & it paid off
Winning teams have to have veteran players

If Neal and Kling want to stick around NIL-free to compete to be the next Beloso in 3 years out of their longstanding love of LSU, have at it. But I don’t see them making that business decision.

I'll be bummed if Kling leaves just because of his ceiling, but I honestly do not give 2 shits what Neal does. Sure, he hits. but I genuinely get angry watching him play baseball

Larson, Milam, and Anderson seem like supplemental players
Larson and Milam seem like bona fide studs. Both have way more upside than Pearson and Jobert. Both are multi-tool players; Jobert and Pearson are both one tool guys.

Hell I’m not sure we have a freshman that’s even on the level of Tre Morgan.
I would not trade Larson or Milam for a freshman Tre Morgan. Both are better at the plate and both are more important defensively.

totally agree Jobert, but I've seen Pearson play lights out in the field and has countless clutch hits. i'd lean more towards a 2-way player despite him having his issues here and there.
Jobert was last year's travinski. cant really put him in the field and he's a guaranteed HR or out

Think of the progreess Skenes made from year 1 to year 2 to year 3. Think Condon from Georgia this year.
You never know which players are going to develop in to "generational players." These dudes are freshmen and all four have the potential to be that type of player - you just can't assess that at this point. Overall, I'd saythis class libed up to its billing as top in the country!

We had generational, record setting players last year in Crews, Skenes, and White. I’m not sure we have anyone close to those guys on the roster currently..
well… one of them we do.
1-2 elite players don’t win championships.
you need guys like Dugas, Beloso, Joebert, Thompson up and down the lineup.
Charlie Condon redshirted at Georgia.
Wyatt Langford hit .250 in 4 AB 4 games as a freshmen
Some people who never saw the field will emerge
Some people you think are secondary pieces will become all americans
Some guys will bust
Some guys will transfer in.

We should probably bookmark this for next season. Many a person has said similar things about players only to be proven wrong.
Heck, Neal is only 19 years old. He was the 2nd best catcher coming out and has faced unfortunate injuries. The potential is there. Don’t be shocked if he becomes very solid.

Yeah, Pearson makes plays in the outfield. I don’t know if he’s fast enough to count that as a tool, but maybe so.

He clocked a 6.51 60 in high school that’s legit. He gets around the bases in a hurry.
