Probably because you live at some great remove from South Bend and are therefore insulated from continual exposure to their nostalgic, delusional self-aggrandizement. It's akin to radiation. Relatively benign in small doses, deadly with prolonged exposure.

"We're an incredible football powerhouse [thirty years ago] and an academic collosus [except that you're far inferior to the two universities just to your west - NU and U of C]."

Suck it Notre Dame. SUCK IT.

P.S. LSU and ND have played 10 times and the series is tied 5-5.

USC - possibly the best chance at winning it all without our victory being diminished somewhow
Notre Dame - To see Lou get his hopes up, just to have him crushed

After watching USCw get raped on the line of scrimmage against Stanford, I would be just giddy to see them play either LSU or Bama.

I hate to say it but Bama for the revenge factor in the title game.

This. After last year, I want to restore f'ing chaos to their world.

After that, FSU.

A dark horse would be Louisville. Schedule is weak, and big east sucks. They could go undefeated. Id think they would put a 1 loss champion of any of the other conferences before an undefeated big east champ. You never know though.

If USC would happen to run the table, don't think they will, they would get in over a one loss Bama/LSU. They will have a title game against a top 10 team to propel them. Personally, I would love to play USC.

LSU vs BAMA in Title Game

Still lots of $$ to be made. It will be hyped as round two or Revenge game.
Playoffs are coming soon so why not

Someone who earns it, and doesn't just win a popularity contest.

USC still just about controls their destiny, assuming two undefeated teams don't emerge out of the SEC and ACC/Big 12.

USC is my pick.

Bama would be, but only if we lost in November and were looking for a rematch.

Florida State

Already seen the best beat down of FSU by LSU in 1982. Sweet Baby Jesus that was a night to be in Tiger Stadium!

UCLA

Long shot but it could happen.

Sorry for the hijack, but is there a thread about this? Been working all day/hadn't been on much. What did he say?

1) I will not comment on anything else (like ND not having a chance of winning more than 10 games this year), but will give you that there is probably some mathematical logarithm where USC can make it in with 1 loss.

2) I totally disagree with everyone who says Bama rematch again. From everything I have heard, that was the least-watched NCG in the BCS era. To me, that means losing money not makint it.
