I wanna say he finished 1 for 32. Definitely several tough outs in there too

He had his first and only slump at the end or the season (6 games) That's your cause for concern?

only slump? pretty sure he had a pretty big midseason slump too.

and yes thats my cause for concern batting him 4th. he's too streaky imo.

he also doesnt have very good plate discipline.

I think he's a decent hitter, but he's more of a 6 hole type of hitter. Unfortunately he may be forced into the 4 because we dont have anyone better.

I think you may be overreacting a bit. Every baseball player of all time is streaky.

clean up hitters are all pretty streaky if you think about it.

I recall Ibarra being maybe our most consistent hitter last year, the last 6 games of the season excluded.

And news flash, baseball players are streaky. Our best hitter coming back that will be a first round draft pick when eligible is streaky. The GOAT (Puig) is streaky.

This is the truth. If there is any spot in the lineup where streakiness is tolerated, it's the 4-hole. Their job is to drive in runs in clutch situations. Not to hit for a great batting average, which I do think Ibarra will do (approx .325).

if you recall ibarra being more consistent of a hitter last year than bregman you legit might have early onset of alzheimers.

his obp was .414 last year...thats pretty damn good and 3rd on the team.

behind bregs, he was the most consistent imo with ty ross being the most streaky hitter on the team

I always thought Ibarra was the most unappreciated Tiger last year (or again, one of them). He consistently got on base and was one of the top four extra base hitters on the team, but he was never flashy about it.

I just didn't think someone would be so concerned about having him sit at the clean up spot. The guy will drive the ball in the gap and get runners home.

You also thought he was more consistent than bregman. I admit that obp is higher than I expected. I don't remember him walking that often.

I said he might have been the most consistent. Obviously Bregman is always going to be up there in any hitting category. The guy is elite at so many things at the plate. My point was that Ibarra was a solid, reliable hitter all season except for the last 6 games.

You want to throw out a statistic or something to show how wildly inaccurate my statement was?

Almost as ridiculous as saying that Ibarra's play last year is cause for grave concern in putting him at cleanup.
