Is being dense the same as being right?

Yeah you should probably move along

In some situations it MIGHT/MAY BE, but not this one.

I'm wrong about claiming I've already posted stats? Damn could have swore I did. Oh well.

I love your foolish pride, FWIW.

I love that can't refute me.

Y'all aren't even arguing about sports anymore. You're arguing about arguing.
No where in your rambling incoherent response did you come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

What am I refuting? He was, at the very worst, our 2nd most consistent and prolific hitter last year in the regular season, but had 6 straight games without a hit to end the year (you posted these stats OMG!!!). That leads you to:
"not much scares me more than the thought of our cleanup hitter being christian ibarra"
Which is absurd and irrational, to put it lightly.
You're just arguing semantics right now, which is fine if you're into that, but I'm not.

That won't happen because he'll look dumb.
you cant refute that you were completely wrong about this. that's what im saying.
saying someone wont do something because it makes them look dumb (when they have ALREADY done it) well sort of makes you look...
as far as the midseason slump that may be a figment of my imagination. i am not going to look it up to prove myself right but if you dont look it up to prove me wrong then it will go unanswered. laziness on both parts does not make one person right.

The California native has steered clear of prolonged slumps, and his average has remained in a 50-point window since SEC play began, when he was at .375. He dipped to .325 after a quiet 2-for-10 weekend at Arkansas, but has elevated it back up 24 points by going 14-for-32 since then.

In conference games, Ibarra is hitting .342 with 10 RBIs.
"I've just been aggressive early in the count," Ibarra said. "When I get behind, that's when I start thinking a little bit."
Indeed, Ibarra is one of several Tigers who are prone to taking hacks early in the count. He has walked 23 times, which is third on the team, so he has a good eye and can be patient. It's just not his or LSU Coach Paul Mainieri's preferred method.
"He wants me to stay really aggressive," Ibarra said with a smile. "He doesn't like it when I take a bunch of first-pitch strikes."
No change and that's no surprise
Aaron Nola won't be in action Thursday when LSU begins an SEC series against Florida, which is not what he's used to. Instead, fellow sophomore Cody Glenn gets the first-game start, the result of the series starting a night early mixed with the potential for bad weather.
Not surprisingly, that doesn't faze the laid-back Nola in the slightest.
LSU pitcher Aaron Nola talks about a slightly changed role this weekend
Tigers' ace will start Game 2 against Florida.
"It's not going to affect me one bit," Nola said. "Just another game for me to pitch."
That's not great news for the Gators, especially if the results are anything close to what Nola has done so far. In seven SEC starts, Nola is 6-0 with an 1.83 ERA. He has 58 strikeouts and only 8 walks in 54 innings.
There is a built-in advantage to Nola not taking the mound to start a series - one he was accustomed to last season when he was the Game 3 starter most of the season.
"I am kind of excited to see their lineup before I go out and pitch," he said

The onus is on you here, not me. But whatever, I'm over it.
Regardless, Ibarra will make a very good cleanup hitter and that's the only part of all this nonsense that I actually care about.

According to bbap .342 isn't good enough to bat 4th in the lineup.

That walk total helped his high obp. I admitted several pages back I didn't realize his obp was as high as it was.
Posted on 1/23/14 at 4:07 pm to bbap
but you said we offered no evidence to refute your argument?
Posted on 1/23/14 at 4:10 pm to redfieldk717
Oh ok fair enough. And the 2-10 at Arkansas isn't a slump. That's just a below average weekend. I'd have to see each game stat line over the middle of the season. I thought for sure he had a bad stretch.
