Kevin Mawae was the 15th highest paid NFL player within the last 5-6 years......and is still playing. I do believe Alan Faneca has passed him and makes me wonder why he lives in Thibodaux......frugal guy I guess.
Kevin's net is probably in the neighborhood of $50+mill right now considering he has fullfilled multiple contract terms.

Yeah, I was thinking Mawae and Faneca as well. Kevin Faulk should be doing pretty well considering how long he has been in the leage. JR got the huge contract, but he's still early in his career. He has the potential.

No Eddie Kennison love? Was a first round pick and played for many years.

Faulk or Faneca?
And for everybody else saying Faneca, he is one of the highest paid Offensive Linemen (and probably the highest paid Guard, or at least was a few years ago), and has been for a while. I suspect that his compensation, to date has almost certainly exceeded what all other past and present LSU NFL players have made. Faulk has done well, but never been outrageously compensated.
As far as potential, D. Bowe, Dorsey and J. Russell all have the potential to make a ton of money in the future, and Jamarcus has a lot of guaranteed money in his contract.
ETA I looked up Mawae, Dorsey and J. Russell on the USAToday database linked by an earlier poster. Mawae has done pretty well and may be slightly ahead of Faneca in receipts to date. They are just a few hundred thousand separated, and both in the $36 million range.
However, Faneca is younger and got a $40 million dollar deal, $21 million guaranteed from the Jets in spring of 2008, so I still put him in the lead. Shocking is that Jamarcus has already made almost $20 million, and Dorsey is just under $7 million.
NFL salaries are increasing at a geometric rate.

Salaries are just rising too quickly. One of my favorite Tigers - Eddie Kennison, has made around $14 million during his career.

Nice layin' it out there Ace.
I knew Kevin and Alan were close but thought Alan had already gone past. Both guys are crazy down to earth/well grounded. Kevin's biggest slurge is camping in his RV with the kids and his wife still shops at discount department stores from time to time......real good peeps.
If JR can sustain and begin to flourish he will fly past them.

Eddie "Boo" Kennison has a cousin playing high school ball at Katy Taylor High. His last name is Thibodeaux, an will be a Jr. this year. Plays DB.

Bradie James signed his 2nd contract & got pretty good money, as did Andrew Whitworth.
Both are relatively young & have a chance to finish with some serious $$$.
