We don’t start scoring 28-35 points it’s not going to matter!

Why would we want 3 teams LSU doesn’t play to beat teams LSU does play? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. For tiebreakers, for potential quality win points with the BCS committee, for just simple committee respect for LSU’s record, LSU is best served by their opponents beating non-opponents. The only exception would be to avoid a tie with a team that beat LSU.

Any more than 1 more loss and we are done.
I don’t think we can say that for sure at this point. If 1-2 teams separate from the pack in the SEC and Big 10 and everyone else beats up on each other, it’s quite possible that at least one 9-3 team makes the field. There are still a lot of impactful games left to play.

Bc it doesn’t fricking matter. LSU just needs to finish 10-2 & nothing else matters

There are literally only 2 programs in the country that will even sniff the playoff with a 9-3 record:
Notre Dame
Bama
That’s the list.
The only caveat would be a 9-3 P4 team winning a CCG and getting an automatic bid

Nope! Want FL win to look good if we're tied with others

I like how I’m arguing simultaneously with people who think 10-2 is a lock and 9-3 is guaranteed out as if there is going to be exactly the number of 10-2 teams to fill out the bracket, nothing more and nothing less. There is absolutely the possibility of more 10-2 teams than available spots, in which case tiebreakers and quality wins matter if LSU is 10-2. There is absolutely the possibility of fewer 10-2 teams than available spots, in which case tiebreakers and quality wins matter if LSU is 9-3.

A 10-2 LSU is in the playoffs. Period.
They don’t deserve to get in at 9-3, so what’s the point?

They’re a 6 win team at best

So Alabama and ND are actually going to sniff the playoff in a literal sense? What does that mean? They are going to smell the committee members? Being in the playoff actually changes the scent in the air?
Let’s say the Big 10 gets 4 spots, ND gets one, and there are 3 other auto bids outside the SEC. That leaves 4 spots for the SEC. I could easily see it being as many as 6 if the Big 10 has only 3 teams at 10-2 or ND ends up 9-3 with a loss to USC (and no quality wins).
Ole Miss and A&M win out.
LSU wins out except A&M.
Texas beats Georgia.
Alabama loses another game.
Vandy loses another game.
Tennessee loses 2 (Alabama, OU, and Vandy remaining).
Missouri loses to Auburn, Vandy, or OU.
That leaves 2 SEC teams at the top and no one else better than 9-3. You think only 2 SEC teams make the playoffs when there are 4-6 available spots?

Ole Miss, A&M, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, and LSU all end up 10-2 and you’re guaranteeing LSU gets a spot if there are only 4 spots left for the SEC?
LSU at 9-3 and tied for 3rd or 4th in the SEC isn’t deserving?

downvote for the bama luv.

Better if Ole Piss wins out. LSU beats Bama and gets a rematch v Ole Mrs in the SECCG.

Because who would you rather have LSU face in the playoffs, Ole Mrs or UGA?

Yes that is exactly what I meant.
Thank you for clarifying for those who didn’t understand.

It seems simple to me: if they were on LSU’s schedule, pull for a win.
Clemson
Ole Miss
Florida
USCe
Bama
OU
If LSU finishes 10-2, every thing else takes care of itself.

Hey, at least you used the word “literally” in conjunction with a figure of speech, so theoretically it had the chance of being proper use of the word.

If we lose to Bama on the road, it just needs to be respectable. Unlike last year.
