Pete was before my time. Yes he is greatest in any sport but I never saw him play.
Football- Kevin Faulk: he was the one who really turn around LSU football.
Basketball- CJ: greatest shooter I ever saw in college. Forget his religious beliefs. Greatest BB game I ever saw was him and Glass at ole miss. He could make it from anywhere on the court.
Baseball- Todd Walker: started the run of great middle infielders. All-time CWS first team. The man hit .400 before it was common.

Exactly. Certainly no LSU player created more excitement, media frenzy, etc than Pistol Pete. And you're right, It ain't even close.

Far too many wicked awesome players to name. We all pretty much know their names when mentioned. However my vote would be for the man that put the ever memorable twist to each and every one of them,

Jim Hawthorne
Get well soon sir.

We're kings when I was a kid.

When I was in 8th grade, my team came up and played against U high and we got to go watch LSU practice and meet the players. Dave Browndyke gave me a wrist band, so he is a personal fav. I think he was the last barefooted kicker at LSU
