Most of North Louisiana supports LSU, while up there most are Cowboys fans. Saints fan maybe more loyal though
This just reminds me of how stupid coonasses can be when they assume.
Yep, NW La used to be overwhelmingly Dallas Cowboy country. I imagine it's shifted a bit, but I doubt it could be called pro Saints country.

Ribs or burgers? I actually enjoy both. Don't have to select one to the exclusion of the other. Tigers and Saints are both excellent for me. No competition at all. Each is No. 1in its own realm.

LSU. Don't care about the Aints.

It's most definitely pro-Saints. Anytime they had to vote on whether to play a Cowboys game or a Saints game, Saints always won.
Pathetic that's the case but let's but realistic. No one likes rooting for a loser. Dallas won big and is only a 3 hour drive to Shreveport whereas the Saints have always sucked until recently and they were a 5 1/2 hour drive.

Oh, and you have your years mixed up. Tiger Stadium didn't have an upper deck until 6 years after Curley Hallman left LSU.
uhhh the west upper deck was built in the 1970's

Nationally it's definitely LSU.

LSU, not even remotely close. Remember when the Saints played in a half empty Tiger Stadium? LSU would fill any stadium in Louisiana no matter who they played.

You could get into a saints game for damn near nothing and people still didn't go.
Simply false

It had more to do with the fact that Saints games were never shown in Shreveport because the TV stations had big chunks of east Texas in their viewing area. When I was a kid if you didn't watch the Cowboys games, you simply weren't going to be watching much football.
But these days, NW LA is firmly Saints country. There's still Cowboys fans here. Plenty of them, but it's not even close.
As for Saints vs LSU, I'd have to say LSU.

Most older people I know in NW La still are cowboy mans. They may not use facebook, but are die hard Boys fans.
Saints couldn't fill Tiger Stadium. It's really not as big a deal in LA as it appears to most die hard NFL fans.

This thread is a reminder of how much people live in their own little bubble.

It's probably changed quite a bit since the Saints won the super bowl and the cowboys suck.
I still think LSU is far more popular in NW La than the saints. Probably in most areas, with the exception of the greater N.O. Area.

Prior to Drew Brees, two of the state's bigger cities, Lake Charles and Shreveport, weren't even Saints towns and regularly showed Cowboys games. It's always been LSU.
15 years ago every sports apparel shop here in Shreveport/Bossier was a Dallas Cowboy pro shop. All of those shops converted from Cowboys to LSU, with a small representation of Saints gear.

A few people have brought this up in this thread and it really is not a fair point. The circumstances were awful.

I believe the plural of "man" is men.

I'll bet N.O. Residents and die hard Saints/NFL fans far overestimate how popular the team is in the rest of the state.

Yep, phone typing sucks.
